Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone ever removed the trim on the hatch. I just got a LP FX35 and I want to get that black trim painted body color. This is the piece where the 3rd brake light is located. Thanks.
are you talking about the chrome trim or the rear upper spoiler? Upper spoiler is not removable and you would need to mask and spray to color match it.
Yes, I am referring to the upper spoiler. Weird that it doesn't come off. Guess I'll have my guy mask it and shoot it. First, I am going to "paint it" in photoshop to see if I will like it. Thanks for the info.
The rear hatch glass sits on top of the spoiler piece so removal would be tricky. I'll see if I can pull up the procedure but here are some cut sections for reference:
