This just peeled off while I was driving 5 min ago-- 2009 fx35

I knew there was a bulletin for this but never thought it would happen to me.

you fed the FX some Viagra? Got Wood?

I've heard a few 2009's with this issue, common as mentioned above.

Common issue on the 2nd gen 2009++. The sad part is that the bulletin states the dealer will replace the real wood the car comes with with some simulated wood that isnt real like the one that originally came with the car.

The wood on there now is a veneer. Its real maple wood attached by adhesive to a piece of trim. Under some hot weather conditions the adhesive fails and the wood seperates from the trim. I have the maple wood trim too and fear that mine will fall off soon too. I find it ridiculous that they will replace it with fake wood. By the way how many miles do you have?

If it does happen to me I'll just apply adhesive again and attach it back on. I dont want that fake simulated wood crap the dealer replaces it with. Plus I get nightmares just of the thought of the dealer taking my door apart. Everytime they mess with the interior, their never careful with anything.

I have my 09 wood trims replaced as all four doors trim came off like yours. They replaced it and it look 100% like the original and never peeled off then.
Its under warranty and they should already know what to do when u bring it in.
No worries, small problem

I have 29000 miles, the car is 2 years old. It was pretty hot out today--about 95 degrees. I'll probably take it to the dealer. I dont want to worry about this again. This type of thing shouldn't happen in a vehicle in this price range. For the past few months, every time I pulled my drivers door handle to open the door, it squeaks and does not feel solid. Also every time my knee knocks on the drivers door trim, it makes a noise too and doesn't feel solid either. These little quality issues have been getting to me these past few weeks and this wood thing just pushed me over the top. Unless infiniti steps up their quality control to the way they used to be, I won't be getting another infinti--which is sad because they make great cars, it's just a few
issues they have to work on. Sorry for the rant.

if it squeaks now and it didn't before, maybe the dealer screwed something up? It shouldn't squeak. My door feels very solid and no squeaks with the door.

I think the plastic door handle is just wearing out, the dealer never touched it..not a big deal however. I'm happy overall with the car. Theres a lot if solid well made parts and there are some that could use work-- like some of the interior plastics, but I guess that's true for any car. The dealer is ordering the wood kit for me this week. I think I hAve the option of replacing the trim with real wood again or going with the synthetic which is recommended. Im assuming they ordered the latter. I'll post pics next week when they get installed.

Happened to both my front doors. Covered under warranty. Dealer replaced both door panels. Received a supplement to the warranty a month later extending coverage to the door panels.

Mine peeled off both on passenger side. Replaced under warranty. Don't need to wait, they have it in stock.

there's a TSB for it take it to the dealer they will replace every wood trim on the doors.

My dealer just told me that they will replace the wood trim with Genuine wood veneer with improved resistance to cracking and peeling--a part he said only became available in June 2011. Fx's made from july 2010 used simulated wood from the factory until this new genuine wood trim became available, which was apparently last month. From now on, all fx's made after June 2011 will have the genuine wood again. Before June 2011, anyone who required this repair had simulated wood put in. If you were one of these people who had the fix done btw july 2010 and June 2011, and your wood was replaced with the simulated type, then you too can have the improved genuine wood put in at no cost if you really want. I dont know what is avail to people who bought their fx with simulated wood from the factory however. All in all, this is pretty good news.
