Hard to steer/Turn when Braking - 2007 FX35 AWD - HELP

Location
Wisconsin
This morning my FX was not having any issues, I went out for lunch and when i started to brake and turn the steering got really tough to turn, almost like the power steering pump was loosing power. I noticed as i would excel though things would turn just fine. I havent had a chance to check my fluids yet but everything was working fine this morning and its jut been sitting in a parking lot until about 20 minutes ago when i went out for lunch. Ive been looking all over the web to figure out what would cause this and im unable to find anything.......hopefully people here can help :).

Thanks in Advance,
Steve

Welcome to :iS2: From your description, it sure sounds like the power steering pump or the belt is lose.

Check fluid levels, you might also have binding tie rods. If you can turn the wheel with one hand than I think this is normal but if you need to literally use both hands and extreme strength then this are the usuall signs of a pump going out or high pressure line.

Its really strange when i was pressing the gas i had no issues turning, it was more or less when i would hit the breaks or start slowing down that it would get tough. and it didnt go completely out just just kind of jitter back and forth from working 100% to not at all.

Its about 20 Degrees here im not sure if that would make a difference or cause something to act weird, but its been running fine all winter and this morning.

Naw, 20 degree out should not be a problem. Most likely its your power steering pump. Check the tension on the belt first.

i remember when mine started going bad (at times when i came to a full stop the steering felt really heavy). Slowly this progressed and it was happening all the time, except wen driving over 10mph pr hour

Mine as well started to just get rough to turn the steering wheel. Could bad drive shaft axles cause this. Mine are leaking but I don't hear no clicks when turning.
