First a little background: In october I traded in my LIQUID COPPER 2005 FX35 for a new 2009 MOJAVE COPPER FX35. I like the new one as much as i did the old one with one reservation. Why is the towing capacity only 2000lbs.(1500lbs. less than the '05 which was 3500lbs.). Can anyone shed some light on this?
 
awesome color, best of luck with it. as far as the towing capacity, wow, that's strange, must be a limitation to the hitch mounting facilities more than the vehicle capabilities though... with custom structural additions I'm sure the capabilty could be raised to at least that of the first gen & then some I would think... don't think most would consider that as an option though... hitch mountings gotta be the reason, unless infiniti has issues with there 7 speed tranny that they don't want to over tax, haven't heard anything to indicate that though, gotta be the hitch as the limiting factor I think
 
then could be there being conservative on the brakes... the 35 brakes are pretty much like the first gens & they are less than stellar, maybe there afraid of 3500 trailer warping the rotors, that would make sense too...
 
Welcome to the Scene and congrats on the upgrade! Could it be a typo on the towing capacity?
