Handy_Andy's Mini Meets

This is awesome.

Random question, but why supercharger over turbo? I have no perineal experience with either, as I've only experienced both in my childish racing games lol

Used SC's are cheap nowdays. Custom turbo setup can run you around $6k installed(I was quoted $1k for custom piping alone). I simply chose the SC route because it's almost 3 times cheaper than turbo setup. Gains with Stillen SC are not that great though. Wish I can go with TT setup, but it's out of my budget.

Hey Z, maybe I missed something, but didn't you buy SC from Tim some time ago? Or this is it?

Yes, I got from Tim last year. Just didn't have time time to install it.

Hey Zebra...did Andy finish installing your SC yet?? I just got my stage 2 in the mail today...will be taking it to Stillen this wknd for inspection.

^Not yet, Andy is doing a bunch of work besides the SC. My tune is on July 25th, we still have plenty of time.

BTW Congrats on your purchase. Saw your post regarding the headers and I think Stillen won't recommend installing them with SC's as far as I know.

Yeah they don't recommend....you will lose a bit of boost with the headers as the Stillen is designed for a stock engine. But a few other members here have
done both and they said it did not make much of a difference. I'm doing it more for the sound and to have a fully modified exhaust system. I will probably
upgrade to Stage 4 at some point to make up for the lost boost.

Do the stage 4 before you install. Playing/wasting time with stage2/3 have been known to just waste time/money.

There is a sticky on g35driver in the FI section. Nearly everyone who ended up with stage 4 stillen will say the same. Don't waste ur time.

For a stillen, u guys don't need a need hood right? That was the only thing holding me back from getting one when I had the chance. Gsedan needs a hood or hole cut out

We don't need a hood....fits with no issues. I hear you about the stage 4 and only reason I'm starting on Stage 2 is because it's carb legal and I need to get
that carb sticker from Stillen for my car to pass the smog test. Mine is due early next year...so once it passes I think I'll go to stage 4 if I want the extra power.

Hahaha, its a long weekend... road trip. Wil be working on a 2011 M35 Saturday.

Kinda figure you'll be heading back to Cali for the long weekend.
Aww man I'm literally 1 mile away from your house and I'm leaving back to Cali this Saturday.

Well if it helps, I will be there too guys, haha. I am back in the States now, so I hope you all can come.

Rip, if you can stop by for a few minutes to say hi, that would be great too.

I'll try to make it down. Taking Friday off, so maybe a good time to wash and wax...

Hope to see you too Justin!

unfortunately too short notice for me so I can't make it. Hope you and Andrew have fun.

Sorry Jonas, I should've gave you more time too.
