Handy_Andy's Mini Meets

Holy **** Andy. I don't know what you did, but you just made my "old" car look and sound better. Maybe because I was always driving it, but man does it sound awesome. I'm totally biased but that HKS with Kakumei Y pipe has to be the best sounding exhaust on a FX=) Not too loud, not to ricey.

Jonas - Haha, is it sad to say that I'm in love with my minivan? The only thing I wish it had was AWD (in newer minivans, only the Toyota Sienna has it), but I've heard reports that the required run flats that come with it aren't good (no room for a spare w/ AWD).

I was going to say that after time in Handy Andy's garage, the cars are starting to look some what similar. But noticed Andy still has the LED rear bumper reflectors and two tone painted roof rails=)

Andy still has to have a "mod bug" even though he has iForged, HKS, etc... I wonder what he's going to do next...

Where is your epic part out Andy??? =)

Few comments....

Andrew's (younger) needs to darken his tints....I can still see him too much. Exhaust sounds awesome and liking the black rims! Did you guys plasti dip them at Andy's?
Chris - gismo sounds aggressive. Actually wish it was a bit louder though, but understand there is much less drone this way. Why does it look like your hood is open?
Andy - your FX is ridiculous. It's awesome. And every time you revved I kept asking myself what Chedman was thinking when he sold it. Unbelievable sounding and looking!

The videos were awesome. Thanks for sharing! But I gotta say I'm glad I was available to partake because my FX would have been sooooo boring compared to all of yours!

Oh Andy, I'm surprised you didn't take the tow-hitch off for the weight savings yet!

Haha, Stillen is a classic now. It looks better than you remembered because it painted in Diamon Graphite.

My legacy lives on in several cars now! I love it.

Who's the new guy on far right (I'm a little behind on reading posts)? He looks like he can beat everyone up with one hand tied behind his back. Maybe he can be the new IS bouncer.

Yep, that would be me. With the coilovers and lowered FX, I look even more out of place... :)

Yeah I'd give it a few coats of clear and see what happens. Worst case, peel it off.

looks a little dull in the first picture, looks better in the second.

It look complete with the caps on. I feel it needs a couple coat of glossy stuff over it.

Ed, it's all your work brother. Just my heavy foot on the pedal to make that noise! I have not done anything other than swap the BBK, B-Quiet the entire floor and roof , swap brick interior, polish the exhaust tips, 50% tint on the front windows, and 15% on the hatch. I'm still debating if I should take the tow hitch off to lighten the rear a bit. I know its such a pain in the butt last time I took the tow hitch off my 35. As for mods, I have been gathering parts to enhance the front bumper a bit :smile (2): Nothing major, but I feel it needed more lighting on the front bumper!

Andy your definition of "nothing" seems to be different than everyone else's.

Didn't know where else to ask this so thought here was relevant. Where did you guys go for your windshield tint? And is the process for redoing tints expensive and long? I would like to go darker but not if it's an expensive hassle

So while Chris (FX45Chicago) was recovery from a knee surgery, he ask me to work on his car. I laid Dynamat Extreme and installed sub. Here are some pics of the install.

Here are what I will be installing into Chris FX45.

Gotta say the JL pushes some really deep bass. It rattle the car by just turning the bass knob a quarter of the way with the head unit bass control set at middle.Chris set up got me looking for a JL to replace my Rockford Fosgate for sure. Debating if I should replace my Alpine amp as well. Chris set really had me think of swapping out what is in my trunck now!
