Hey Guys,

Just wondering what went wrong... I installed a set of H&R 25mm trak+ spacers last week. Got my wheels balanced and an alignment, no problem, car drove perfectly. A few days ago, I installed H&R sport springs. now the car has a subtle drift to my left. I took it back for a realignment, but that was to no avail. Any thoughts? Thanks

I'm no expert but 2 things came into mind:
- inspect the tires / air pressure / wear patterns
- review the H&R Springs if they are seated properly (remove the wheels if needed, but u can turn the steering wheel for the fronts)

also, have another shop do an inspection before giving them the OK for another wheel alignment.

Maybe the alignment equipment is out of specs. I really don't want to go back to stock springs.

Thanks soonster! I'll ask my mechanic to take a look at those springs...

I spoke with a tech at Butler Tire here in Atlanta. Unlike your average tech, these guys understand suspension mods. He said a left drift is indicative of a camber issue and can be fixed. Will drop it off tomorrow an see what happens. It's more expensive ($129), but they do it right!

camber issue??.. that shouldnt cause the drift, only toe... unless ur springs arent seated right like soon said.. also, could be tires (pressures, shifted belts) or could be spacers not on right (but that should cause more of a heavy vibration than a pull)... i think ur savy techs are not so savy or robbing u clean :eek.:.. good luck dude

about re torque the spacers i believe the instructions state that you need to do it after 60 miles which I'm going to do today since i just installed my spacers on thursday.

Problem Solved! The camber and toe was in the red. They made the adjustments, now everything is in the green and drives as it should. If you gonna drop it, make sure you take it to a shop that know how to adjust the camber as well. Hopes this help.

I know it's been fixed already, but the toe was your issue, not camber. Butler techs don't know any more than the average Goodyear guy (they just charge twice as much)... I'll never use Butler again. And never, ever get Butler to roll your fenders as a warning. I learned that lesson the hard way along with some friends. If you ever need guys who actually know their stuff, go to Gran Turismo. They actually deal with guys who track their cars (as opposed to ones who just want 24"s on their BMW) and their prices are more reasonable than Butler.
