H&R Springs: Review

Just had the H&R springs installed last week and all I can say that it is great. I was skeptical at first when reading here that the ride quality actually improved, however, you guys were right on... the ride is much better now, not to mention the stance and overall look of the vehicle.

I did not change the struts/shocks because my car only has 17K on it. I figured I would get the KYB's later after the stock ones are shot. For right now though, the best way I can think of describing it is... the ride is less bouncy. With the stock setup, because it is a stiff suspension in general, I could feel every bump and I felt as if I were bouncing around in my seat. With the H&R's, I still feel the same amount of feedback from the road, however the bouncy-ness (technical term) is drasically reduced.

If you are on the fence about lowering the car, as I was at first (swore I wouldnt modify the suspension), do yourself a favor and do it. You will love it.

Next thing will be to try different tires, the OEMs are kinda good all around tires but not the greatest riding tires.

I cannot wait to get new tires. I am probably going to go with the Toyo Proxes STII, however I am also contemplating snow tires because I run frequent trips to the mountains in the winter. I wonder how the STII will grip in the snow?

Let me know if you get new tires soon.. I might get your stockers.. Apparently, the 275/40/20 size is the same size of the X6 fronts so I think they're the default snow tire size for the 20s.. I wonder how they'd look with the 20x11 rear

Ege, I wasnt going to get new tires until the fall, but if you need them then I would be willing to get new tires sooner. We could swing over to Town Fair sometime soon and work something out. Let me know.
