H&R or Eibach

Thanks, I think some of it has to do with using 265/40/22 tires where a lot of others use 285/35/22. 265/40/22 are thicker and closer to OEM tire height (slightly less than oem tire height). Being a FX45 too is slightly heavier.

I have H&R's, did a cold cut on the front springs and very happy with the ride.
+1 I'm running 265/40/22's w/H&R's love the set up! Maybe it's just me but I think the ride is better than stock and in conjunjunction with the bracing it feels much more planted to the road on hard cornering. I think the H&R's are made of a heavier gauge spring. Maybe we could get an OD on gauge on both springs and compare that as well.

yup...1/2 coil will approximately equate to 1/2" drop.

Yeah, made a difference and still rides nice. My brother is trying to get his friend to get an FX. He was telling him how I cut my springs and it still rides good.

how come everything i can find on ride height comes up with this...
H&R Part number 53043 Front drop 1.3" Rear drop 1.2"
Eibach part number 6366.540 Front drop 1.2" Rear drop 1.2"
Intrax part number 60.1.075 Front drop 1.8" Rear drop 1.8"
doesnt that mean that the H&R is technically lower?? everytime i read on the forum, everyone says eibachs are sporty spice... lower spice.. but this is a quote from rookie and every site i just looked at says the same thing??

those are the official specs from the manufacturers, which by themselves don't really mean anything precise, just because they also spec the same exact spring for everything from a rwd 35 to an awd 45, so the heavier vehicle will sit lower & not all vehicles will get the same exact drop.from what I've seen I think the H&R's are more consistant in the drop they give & maintain the same ride height long term & the eibachs are a little less consistant, some sit lower than others. most times the drop in the front is def more with eibachs than H&R's initially, & then from several members & reports are pretty much known to settle & drop even more with time. jbakers eibach springs are a little lower stock than my H&R were with 1/2 a coil removed... some eibachs are pretty low in the rear too, like daves.
at meets more guys should try driving an opposite springed fx to feel the difference for themselves & get some opinions & comparisons there, but the eibachs are def a higher springrate than the H&R, & stiffer according to anyone who has driven both... because of that they do handle better all else being equal because it's a help to reduce body roll.
intrax is still vaporware even after all this time.
