I just came across this video today...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpPBc4RUhi4

Has anyone heard of Guerrilla Exhaust? Looks like it's a custom shop out of the netherlands.

From their site, keep in mind it's translated from dutch to english.

About exhausts

Let us further comment on exhausts ...

Generally exhausts can be divided into two groups: normal exhausts and sport exhausts. Normal outlets are generally narrower than sports exhausts. This works sound dampening, but also creates a greater pressure, resulting in power loss. The sports exhaust system, however, is broader, with a better flow (flow) and therefore less back pressure. This results in more torque and more power. When a new car from the factory rolls, then it is provided with a so-called OEM exhaust. Usually extremely quiet and low expressing the potency of the engine. A car must indeed comply with regulations in many countries. Hence the standard exhaust often replaces a sports exhaust. Reasons are often the exhaust tip is not beautiful or not visible, the car should improve its performance (by tuning ), but mostly just to get a better sound. Guerrilla Exhaust Systems We are convinced that even the most beautiful car off without the matching sound. A sports exhaust is not always desirable. Thus, the exhaust noise even quite irritating when you go long the same speed. Therefore, we not only custom exhausts, but we also have the Guerrilla Style exhausts on the market. Guerrilla Style includes Parallel Damper system and the Guerrilla Bypass. So we offer you the best of both worlds! A clever piece of electronics sends a valve in the exhaust Guerrilla. This allows you to both the sound and the ability of your car to your liking. When the cover of the sports exhaust is closed, use the normal outlet. The sound and thus the ability of your car is similar to that of a normal outlet. With the valve in the open position, you use the sports exhaust and you not only get that sporty sound that fits in your car, but also a piece of capital. So, you can by means of a button on your dashboard exhaust and performance management. Obviously, this can always, if you stand still or just while driving.

Benefits of Guerrilla exhaust

- All Guerrilla exhausts are completely manufactured from stainless steel and perfectly tailored
- Parallel Damper System: by pressing the head of silent stealth to brutal Guerrilla Sound
- In Guerrilla Fashion: more power and a bold sporty sound
- In Stealth Mode: exhaust sound as normal (or what sportier, if you want)
- In short: you create the sound that fits in your car, when you want
- with an exhaust the advantages of both a silent exhaust and a sports exhaust
- No negative influence on the life of the engine

I seen these awhile back. Sounds like a neat idea but in my case it would be set to growl 100% of the time.

Haha same here! Too bad they're in the Netherlands and I'm in Boston. I was thinking about emailing them tomorrow anyways for some more info.

I believe the corvette does the same thing, but instead of a button, it's tied to the throttle. Drop the hammer, and it opens up the valve and roars.

The corvette has a valve in the muffler. From the extremely nondescript pictures on the Guerilla site, this looks like a full custom system with a post-cat and pre-resonator electronically actuated cutout.

So this thing is a fancy cutout?

Its hard to say for sure due to the language barrier but based on what limited info is readily available (the pics and translated description on their site), that's what it looks like.

I initially thought "parallel damper" meant two exhaust systems with a selector valve, but upon reading the description again and seeing the pics on their site, I think "parallel damper" actually means "dual exhaust" and that they just place a cutout before the mufflers.
