Yeah it looks like it will just fall out...I can pull it out with my finger..it's not expanding like it says??

Damien, you really have to give it some muscle and crank the bottom black nut hard while holding the silver sleev with a wrench with upward pushing so the bottom of the rivet nut is flat against the frame. Crank it, it is very heavy. You basically crank the nut tight to compress the aluminum rivet nut to flare out. So you can imagine it will be pretty heavy cranks on the bottom nut.

That's exactly how you do it. Give it some muscle, or better yet, attack it with an impact wrench. Once you get those inserts seated, you just bolt everything up to them.

& for a short term update, I like the new bar. Kinda happy-bumpy, lol.
It adds a little more rigidity. Not the same wow effect as the rears or the front & mid-ladder, but I can feel it doing its stuff.
I will add that my setup is no good for any place that has crappy roads. LA is smooth for the most part, or at least the roads I travel, but I cant imagine this setup like on the streets of Manhattan. The ride it good on most stuff, but if you're doing bumps, holes, cracks, tracks, whatever, . . it's gonna be felt on the ass & the car.

 Glad to hear you kinda like the "happy-bumpy" feel. Got a better term to describe it? I can't wait for FX45Chicago to give his review on the Mid Chassis brace.

when I had my fx35 all braced up it was horrible on some roads near me......and the streets of Manhattan haha
especially paired with my eibachs:tdown:

Finally go those rivets in....just driving it for two days i feel it is the most noticeable brace of them all. Already had both rears on and the stb...but the mid chassis made the ride feel much more stable....feels like its on rails when cornering. Did not install 4 points ladder yet as I'm just gonna take it somewhere to get it done...but not sure if it will make any more improvement.

Congrats on the rivets.
The front tie will give you the most feel on the upgrade. Mid ladder following that.
Good idea on taking that somewhere for the fit. The front is a bit more time consuming, but more of the same as far as the rivets. I recall that the mid ladder was simple

corners better?

also running on any AMket springs?

I was going to ask how's the battle with the rivet nuts. Good to hear that you planted them. Haha, I like how you described it, "on rails when cornering". As for the 4-point ladder brace, I had the hardest time because I can't get one of the bolt off due to it in a very tight spot and no having a lift. I had to take it to a muffler shop and slap a $20 on it to get it loosen up and take it home to finish up the install. If you also doing the front lower engine brace, you gotta deal with the rivet nuts again.:ninja:

I'm glad I only have one GTSpec bar to install -- the mid-chassis. Got the hard ones out of the way.

Yeah also running lowered on Eibachs and also H&R 25mm spacers for that wide stance

Andy....don't think I'm going to do the front lower engine brace...going to do a
bull bar so it will use those mounting points I think.
