GTSpec Braces for 2003-2013 Infiniti EX35 FX35 FX45 FX37 FX50 FX50S and other makes

I totally agree with your perception on GTSPEC as a company. I was on a hunt for the hardware a couple years ago without any luck. I ended up bite the bullet for the $29 + shipping hardware kit in which all I needed was two freaking rivet nuts from the $29 kit.
 
So are the rivet nuts something I can find at a specialized hardware store? Or do I need to modify the mounts somehow to run regular bolts? Very irritated right now. I bought drew's brace with the assumption that I could just get the hardware from GT Spec...Then when I tried to buy it, they tell me that because they sold out of the bars, they don't bother to stock hardware. Wouldn't it occur to them that they should stock more hardware kits than braces? I'm still waiting to hear back if they have anything that's compatible.
 
I have no luck with finding the same size rivet nut in small quantity last that I looked.
 
Thanks, I'm watching that now. It's ridiculous, GT Spec just got back to me and said they had absolutely nothing that would fit. I can't imagine that the FX uses hardware much different from a G. Oh well. Hopefully worst case I can drill the hole out a little to fit or something.

exactly what im thinking. As long as the rivet nut is bigger then 5/8 of an inch, you can drill the hole bigger.
 
I have a couple extra too, a friend of mine said if I give him a sample he should be able to get them from his work
 
If they're the same ones that came with the mid chassis brace, then they're M12x1.75 rivets...

The 1/2-13 that Viperi posted MAY work, but I'm not sure the threads are close enough...just my two cents, sorry if this didn't help at all
 
I really appreciate all the help guys. When I get them, I'll go under the car and figure things out. Hopefully it will work and I won't have an expensive decoration.
 
Aaaahhhh, it is M12x1.75 Rivet. I have been looking for my notes to find the size of those rivet nut. I'm pretty sure the front lower engine brace and the mid chasis brace use the same rivet nut.
 
Happy to help. Only reason I know is I spent a quite a bit of time in Home Depot and Lowes trying to find longer screws for my mid chassis with no luck. I ended up having to order some online
 
I need to find some rivets for my used mid chassis brace also.

I have GTS-SUS-1388 2nd Generation Strut Tower Brace in stock. Won't last long. PM me for more details

Just as an update, I got ones that work, had to order a box of 50 though. I used them to install my GT spec lower engine brace. They are M12x1.75 rivet nuts (forget the length) and I used 35mm M12x1.75 SS bolts from the hardware store. If anyone needs any, PM me, I have 45 of them still (lost one for testing).

Do you know if they will work with a Mid-Chassis brace?
 
Well, according to donblaze, the mid chassis is M12x1.75. I bought them for the lower engine tie hoping it would work.
