GTSPEC Aluminum Under Panel for FX35 (1st Gen)

Ordered one trough my S.u.m.m.i.t. friends in Europe

Sorry GT Spec guys you do a great job, but for me it was more interesting doing it trough here as i have connections here.
But just wanted to mention i've ordered one to maybe motivate others

any word on 05 AWD config?

Is the only difference the location of the oil filter....?? Cause i don't think they will change the design just for that......will make the panel even more expensive as it is.

But not that hard to take it off completly for an oil change once a while is it...?? Had to do that with the OEM panel already.
Can imagine you would prefer it off course, but is that the only reason why you would not buy it....??

well its pricey to begin with so I would prefer it fit correctly, im sure they can easilyy put another trap door where the filter wold be

I hear you  and think you'll have to find a ginny pig with an RWD and give them some feedback on where they should make the new hole.

I think i read jumbo was into one as well.

Or just compare both engine and messure the difference in location.

Can't imagine they would stock over 100 pieces of these so probably make them in a little bunch.

Any updates on this topic?! I'm looking to purchase this thing but im unclear as to if it will fit my 05 AWD 45, and if anyone has found it at a lower price anywhere?

I will receive 2 by the ed of the month. One for me FX35 RWD and one for another dutch forum member FX35 AWD.
I honestly do not know if the oem underpanel is any different from the 35 and 45.
Only issue was the location of the oilfilter. Think the sample car was a RWD so they thought it should all be the same.
But as i mentioned before i don't know if it is easy to exchange the filter trough one of these holes GTSpec / SUMMIT made. I gues you want to see the rest of the engine also when changing......even if it is just to inspect the rest.
And then it is just abou 10 screws to loosen......not that big of a deal.

$425 +shipping through the GTSPEC website... CLICK

So what is the final verdict.. before I order this.. Will it in fact fit my 05 fx45 AWD??

Check out the GT spec link tchuck posted above. Will fit the 45....only thing is the location for the oilfilter panel is different and for a RWD.......so yes it wil fit.
Only thing you have to do is take the whole panel of for your oil changes......wich is easy......just bolts...

i totally agree with JB on this one.. if they sell it the panel better be able to take some serious punishment plus it should fix whichever FX perfectly no matter where the oil filter is at.. after all its a nice chunk of cash...

I understand the overal opinion of the AWD drivers. I think they just didn´t know the oilfilter would be in a different location. And there demo car in taiwan would have obviously been a RWD version.

BUT.....years ago everyone was complaining that none companies offered a bodykit for the FX. Ok now i am in the bussines so a phonecall was made easy. And so there was a company called koenigseder who now offers a kit for the FX.
But silicone hoses like Samco i do not work with, but called the manufacturer in the UK back then with a question concerning diameter and i started talking to the guy and after that he and i arranged the FX kit from samco.

What i am trying to say is, if you guys would want this panel so bad.....why not call the guys from GT Spec......tell them about the issue and maybe they are willing to look into it and give the other messurements to the manufacture with the note that there will probably be more AWD then RWD´s so maybe worth it to look into this.
Or otherwise overrule the US and contact the Manufacture directly. With internet everything is just a mouse click away.....

It is not that you have to be in the bussines to get this done. Companies often work with clients to get new products developed. They don´t buy new cars each time to get these parts figured out.

Call them
