hey guys have a set of gtr wheels 9.5 front and 10.5 rear i know the optimal size is 265/50/20 front and 295/45/20 rear however im trying to match up my front tires with the rears and cant get them in an 295/45/20 however i can get the tire in a 285/50/2 or 285/45/20. Personally i think the bulge on the rear with a 295/45/20 is to much any opinions on putting a 285/50 or 285/45 on the rear for gtr wheels? Im leaning towards the 285/50 after its mount on the rim it should lower the sidewall a bit since its going on a 10.5 wheel
 
I think that size was highly recommended because of AWD people. I think 285/50 is very similar to 295/45 since the tire itself is almost 1" taller but getting stretched a tiny bit. GL
 
Yea If you are not AWD you could pretty much run whatever you want in the back. Also depends on if youre lowered or not for fitment.
 
Ended up just running 265/50/20 all the way around since the tires were new they fit pretty well and the rear is perfectly flush

Where in Chicago are ya from? I'm from the burbs but frequent Lincoln park/Lakeview area since friends are the girl are up here.
 
For future reference, 285/45 would have worked fine on the 10.5" width. Only downside to running 265/50 all around on staggered wheels is the uneven stretch. Your rears are slightly stretched and your fronts are slightly bulged.

And FWIW, stretching a tire will not change the sidewall height or overall height. The belts determine the rolling diameter, so stretching the sidewall doesn't change that.

I have a blue 05 fx35 rwd and I'm about to install megan coilover suspension, so I can put on wider wheels. where did you buy your wheels? 20x10.5 in the back and 20x9.5 in the front? what offset for both sets? how much did you lower the back? how much in the front?

Hey aviator, were u trying to sell ur fx a couple months ago? If I remember right I saw it on craigslist?? I almost texted u but my wife wasn't to sure of the color:(
