GTR Wheels and H&R Drop

Ended up selling my 22" rims. Ride was too harsh and I couldn't stand the steering wheel vibration despite the hub centric rings. I miss the look, but needed something more functional. I couldn't bare staying with the stock 18s, so I picked up a set of staggered 20" GTR wheels. I also finally decided to drop the car on H&R's despite there not being a solution for the camber wear.

GTR rims I had picked up had a bad powder coating job (Elite Powder coating) . It was smooth to touch, but seems that the finish cracked underneath the clear coat. I ended up powder coating them again (at Intrack Tires) BMW Shadow Chrome.

I'm partial to the look, kinda feel like they're too small. Almost pulled the trigger on some m37 Sport rims, but I was in too far with these. May sell the GTR's to switch up. The quest never ends.

I like the look of the GTR rims over your other rims :good:

I think the 20" GTRs look great. I'm sure the gas pedal feels noticeably more responsive with the smaller wheels, too!

No hate but those 22s didn't look good at all specially with all that fender gap. Were u selling them on Craigslist out of Long Island by any chance? I think I rain into them. Gtr rims do look much better but I agree once you have 22" it's hard to get used to the 20s.

GTR Wheels and H&R Drop

Looks good but I agree that 20's look way too small on the 2nd gen. I think think the FX50 21's looks the best IMO.

Yes, that was me selling them. I was going to keep them and do the drop, but it was going to rub. Even more reason to let them go.

I agree Rip, but the 21s are really heavy and the prices for tires were ridiculous.

I still prefer the 21" if you are going to stick with oem

Love the GT-R's. I have them on my 2009 FX35. I'm due to replace the shocks/struts on mine and thinking of swapping the OEM springs with the H&R lowering springs. I wanted to ask you about the camber wear on yours. How long did your tires last? Was it just the fronts that were out of spec? If I do go with the H&R lowering springs, I'm thinking of rotating the front tires (more like swapping front tires) to get even wear. I think I saw somewhere here that adjustable control arms were made for our FX's, but they're too much for me. I'd rather just swap tires ever so often.

I'm curious to see how your front tires have managed. I'll try to post a pic of my setup.

I have the staggered GTR setup on H&R, but I have the Megan Racing lower control arms. My tire wear is even, but I feel like my Yokohama’s have worn too quickly. I’d rather have the Hankooks, but they don’t make one of the sizes I need in my AWD setup any longer.

GTR are the best looking wheels
