I just bought a square set of 2012 GTR Fronts (20 x 9.5s with a 45 offset) for my 2003 FX35 AWD which is lowered with H & R springs on KYBs...

Trying to find the right tire... I am changing over from a 22 x 9.5 wheel that I am running 285/40/22s and the 285s fits that rim perfectly, however the general consensus is to go with the stock size tire (265/50/20) which all the tire sites that I have looked at say is the optimum tire for a 9.5" wide rim. it just seems weird that the 265 tire (which is the stock tire size for the 8" wide stock wheel) will also fit a 9.5" wide wheel. If it does the wheel/tire should have the same diameter as the stock wheel tire configuration (so my speedo is accurate)...

I kind of like the tucked look... so, I will see how they look and buy spacers if needed...

BTW - I picked up the set for only $620!!! They did have some minor scrapes so I am going to paint them black with Duplicolor...

Thoughts?

265/50 fits the gtr fronts perfectly. You should consider spacers. I am on gtr's and h&r and the fronts need huge spacers. 25mm-30mm is the most popular size. H&R & Ichiba are popular, but I went with a custom made billet aluminum spacer. I would be worried about rubbing the strut

Just like WiND DANCE said. I would go with 30mm spacer at the front and 25mm spacer at the rear.

I thought I would post some pictures of the painting process... I think they were slightly different colors... which is part of the reason i decided to paint them... they also had a few minor scrapes... and the center caps were different color...

here is a prepped wheel - Isanded.webp took them to America's Tire to spin first to make sure they were round before going through the effort of painting...

How did you take care of the knicks so they don't show in the new paint job? I know professional shops will have everything stripped from the wheel before starting the prime process.

I used a scuff pad to scuff up the old paint and 600 grit to sand down the nicks. Most of them were on the lip so I was able to blend it in pretty well...

I got them mounted today (I was on vacation for a while)... and am not sure if I like the job I did yet... not as perfect as I would have liked...

I need to order wheel spacers and get my car washed then I will post some pictures...
