Gtr vs. Busa

Fixed.

Those things aren't common, you know?

Maybe not from the factory, but that GT-R isn't exactly stock.

All of these are AWD and perfectly capable of 700whp:

Audi S4
Audi RS6
Bugatti Veyron
Lamborghini Gallardo
Lamborghini Murcielago
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO
Nissan Skyline
Porsche 997 turbo
Subaru WRX STi

These are just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

GTR sounds sick, but that busa must give you some crazy adrenaline rush

as much as i like previous skylines, the main turn off imo of the gtr is its transmission. Yes, the new transmission in it prob shifts faster than most professionals using a MT but it also takes out so much of the thrill that comes with a true stick shift.

I guess I'll explain here also... the point I was trying to make is that of these cars you listed, it's extremely rare to see one pushing 700+ awhp. The Bugatti Veyron requires owners to complete their driving school before they'll give you the second key to "unlock" the beast. Before unlocking you're looking at mid-500's to 600 awhp and after unlocking you'd be pushing 800+

I've never really *looked* for the monster Audi's, but I never hear of high HP Audi's anyways. I'm sure they exist, but the tuner market for dyno queens just isn't as big or open as other cars.

The Lambo's cruising the streets and stored in garages are about 99% completely bone stock, owned by wealthy car enthusiasts, not necessarily racers.

The 3000GT VR4's are definitely popular dyno queens known for huge numbers, so I'll give you that one. If you see a VR4 on the street chances are, even if it's stock, it was at one time put through hell on the dyno or at the drag strip (even though they're EXTREMELY heavy).

Evo's and STi's do hit 400-600 awhp VERY frequently, but 700+ is pretty rare still. The Evo X has been around for over 2 years now and 700 awhp was just barely broken last October and currently the highest is 746 awhp as of like a week ago.

Porsche 997's sorta fall into the Lambo category where they're normally well taken care of, but I have heard of a lot more of these hitting shops, they actually have a healthy aftermarket support. Since it's so easy to get huge power on the stock motor these things easily hit the 700+ awhp category.

But like I said before, 700+ awhp monsters, especially ones daily drivable like that bone-stock-LOOKING R35 GTR are extremely rare... it's one thing to have a fully gutted drag EVO or STi, but another story when looking for cars like that GTR... I was just saying they're very rare.

not normal

guys, the busa is 197hp for 220 + may be 80 for the driver. So let's say 300kg - a 0.65 hp for a killo.

so if the gtr want to have a chance must do 500kg (with the 2 persons) to mach the busa's power. So we're talking 350kg for a car of this type. Is it possible? of course not.

So the thing is that the busa's driver is gay :)
And yes that's the only reason that the guys with the gtr won.

Three flaws in your logic:

1. The first gen Hayabusa had 173hp at the CRANK, not 193 at the wheel like you're implying. Not only that, but that number is a factory rating. ie, not even necessarily true at the showroom floor, let alone after someone has been racing it around for a few years.

2. The power to weight ratio idea would hold water if both vehicles were AWD and had four wheels, but things being as they are low traction and the propensity to flip over backwards are extremely pertinent factors here. The 'Busa has both and the GT-R has neither.

3. Torque. Extremely important for an engine that reaches max hp @ 14K rpms and shifts out of first gear at +/-75mph. It's probably safe to assume that for this drag race the bike was working with that max rated hp for about 1 full second.
