Gtr R35 oem exhaust in my fx35

ive seen it done. i dont think ive seen it done on a second gen though. the r35 starts with 2 catted downpipes and a dual midpipe pipe that connects in to a single pipe to a long single pipe which connects to the mufflers and tips. its possible but alot of work.

stock r35 is on the right. midpipe is on far right and downpipes are not shown. they are basically the catalytic converters for our cars.

So far i will do estimate before buying the r35 muffler with the single pipe for only $100 and custom fit my car..

What should i get for more performance and sound?? Hows about y pipe or test pipe only??

I did it but on a first gen. Takes some hacking but most of all patience to get it done right. I only did axleback and kept the stock fx35 resonator. Also just dual tips not quad.

Yeah thats why i thought too, i might just delete the single pipe from r35 exhaust and make dual exit on the muffler to fit my oem dual

I dont know how the sound is gonna be.. i have too many options. Either get only test pipe or Y pipe with stock exhaust or customize r35 oem exhaust

How are you going to make a single inlet R35 muffler a dual inlet? That's not possible. You can much more easily run a single pipe back from your Y-pipe. The OEM dual exhaust on the 2nd gen isn't a dual, it merges at the Y-pipe and then they split it off again. So just don't split it after the Y and run a single pipe to the muffler.

The FX will sound similar to the G/Z with the R35 muffler. A VQ35DE is going to sound pretty close to a VQ35DE with the same exhaust no matter which car it's in. And a VQ35HR is going to sound like a VQ35HR with the same exhaust no matter which car it's in.

Yeah thats what i want because stock r35 has 2.7" pipe before the muffler

Is it gonna be too loud since the oem fx35 has 2 resonated

If you add 1 larger resonator, I think you'd be ok. OEM 2nd gen has 2 but it's split between 2 pipes. So if you're running the same flow through 1 pipe, a slightly longer one should do it. Too loud is a personal thing. The R35 muffler is going to be louder.

Now looking at the R35 exhaust some more, you may be able to keep your OEM dual pipes. Just modify the ends to route to each inlet on the R35 muffler. I have no idea how the turns would look though.

Keep in mind you're not going to gain any power from this, it would be for sound only. If you want power, test pipes or high flow cats are your best bet exhaust wise. Swapping to an aftermarket Y-pipe doesn't really result in any gains and neither does the muffler.
