this just dawned on me... your fx35 hit 130+mph... i have a 45 and my car tops out 110-115... im guessing my limiter is programmed for that speed... and ive been wondering how to disable that if possible?

re. the bra, that's why the wings were designed & put on there. I've hit 130+ & it stays down pretty good even at speed. I think the Colgan might be the best one on the market.

I know on the VQ35DE we can get an Uprev tune to remove the speed and RPM limiters. Not sure about the 45. Find a 45 tuner and I'm sure they can help out.
 
Techonosquare ecu reflash will remove the speed limiter and increase the red line limits not to mention change the 3 stock maps to more aggressive timings.
 
That's true I have no limiter, but just so you know, any fx, 35 or 45, limiter is set for high 130's right out of the box.

I've hit just under 110 in 3rd gear with my 35. Maybe 107-109, it's hard to say for sure but starting in third from 60 she gets there pretty quickly. I was at hair over 120 and climbing in 4th before I ran out of traffic-less straight freeway and nerve, not motor. I imagine 130 would be easy given a long enough stretch of empty road...

If your 45 tops out at 115, maybe you have a problem...?
 
only time I got up to 130 is on the long straight at pochono raceway,it's the kinda stretch that the gtr would hit like 180... never hit a limiter though... kinda hard to do 130+ on a public road without risking jail :tongue:
 
Only topped out a couple times - before I started modding. But pre-Uprev tune, I was maxed out at 120. Couldn't get above it if I wanted to.
 
maybe it was because I was drafting that C5 :tongue: jk, when we hit the straight the c5 left me like I was towing a house... I'm almost certain that I touched 130 though before decelerating into the turn...
 
might the stillen headers & full 2.5" duals make a difference up there? also I'm kinda low, maybe the drag & underflow had a play too... maybe it is a little downhill too :laugh:
 
anything over 80 is asking for trouble but sometimes you get pushed... one day on the left lane cruising at 90 just enjoying my ride a pontiac gto 06? rides up my ass so i punch it... pulled away, but slowly but surely he caught up and past me a bit, one or two car lenghts... been bugging me ever since... i know gto puts out 400hp but to top out at 115 when my odometer reads to 160, whats the purpose?

I had a tailwind when I hit that speed. Otherwise the drag gets the best of our cars. It was very stable though. Guage read 135, and gps confirmed it. There was a little room for more, but I cooled it after that cuz it felt pretty fast for an fx to be clocking that rate.

I'm pretty sure in 5th gear, you can't go past about 115-120, so that may be why.

What about where the speed limit is 80? I would assume going about 90 there would be ok.

I could be off by a couple mph, but I can say with a great amount of certainty that an 04 FX35 (AWD no less) will hit 115 in 4th gear with ease. I stopped right at 120 (I think it was a little over, maybe not) and never hit any limiter.

How can we make this subject a thread without encouraging unsafe driving practices? Maybe a "track only" heading or something?

On topic: Dave, is that Harley a Sportster?
