Okay, I just booked my plane ticket from Ontario to/from Oakland for May-10. I plan to leave around 5am to 6am. I should be able to get to GTM around 10am to 11am. I will be getting the torque converter & valve body installed. I'm excited about this :xd: I'll be back down the following Sat to pick up the car. It's about a six hour drive, so hopefully I'll be able to provide some feed back on this upgrade.

Slowly but surely...another step closer to the s/c kit

Airvec, you should have tried to coincide this mod with the June track day at Cal Speedway. They are very close. And I think Jeff is going to come down for that event too. Just a thought.

Good mods to have done...you will really enjoy them!

? isn't Hayward in the bay area? and isn't Oakland part of No Cal? I know I'm new to the area but sounds like a No Cal meet to me, lol....

Didn't realize there is a track day in June. I'm eager to get this done, so I don't want to wait :4tongue: I was thinking about meeting up with the So Cal guys. If you guys have time on May-17, I'd love to meet up. That's when I come back to pick up the car. It'll be a great opportunity for me.

Deecarp: we should put together a Nor Cal meet.

Hey I'm all for it, maybe get Jeff up that way too. either way I'm down... Where is GTM located in Oakland?

Deecarp: GTM is actually located in Southern Cal. I'll be driving down there to drop off my car, and flying back. That's why I was thinking to meet up with the SoCal guys since I'll be down there. I do live in Hayward, so I was thinking we should put together a NorCal meet. Preferrably after I get my car back

Oh, ok, ok. That will work too. I'm always down to do something. It is just difficult pulling teeth to get folks out here in No Cal. Well good luck with the Mod, have fun and take pictures.

Dropped my car of just this past Saturday at GTM. That place is pretty big. Lots of Z & G cars there. I've decided to get their ECU reflash and dyno tuned while I'm at it. I'll be back down this Saturday to pick up the car. Hopefully there will be some noticeable gains.

Thanks Doc. Didn't mean to make it sound like double posting. Wanted to post what I saw regarding the HKG GT s/c kit on the other thread:4tongue:

Picked up my car just this past weekend. Had a chance to play around with the transmission in manual mode. The shifts are definitely faster and more crisp. I can feel the jerk when up shifting at WOT. I really enjoy the speed at which it shifts now. Under normal driving you can't tell the difference, so the driveability is good. However, with the higher stall torque converter, I noticed I have to give it more gas at lower rpm's for the car to move. Over all, I'm very happy with the job done.

Cool, did you get a cooler for the trans fluid?

I thought about it, but didn't end up getting it. I don't track my car, but do like to push it hard once in awhile. I live in the Bay Area where temp is mostly on the cool side. Don't know if the trans mod will increase the temp to warrant a cooler. I'm open to suggestions. I will be going F/I, hopefully by the end of this year. I can have GTM install it at that time. Let me know what you think?

I've heard nothing but bad stuff about the L10 transmission upgrades, with the exception of one person. I think that person is highly biased or got very lucky.

On the other hand, I've heard nothing but good stuff from GTM, aside from their moderately high price tag...

Actually, I had my VB done by lvl10 and have absolutely no issues. Maybe I got lucky too, but I do know who you are referring to.
