Dude you're going to be 23. Wife or not you need a sports car! Or at the very least a very capable sports sedan.

IS-F is you must. But the M cars hand it it's arse on any given day IMO (although that is a personal one). At that age I would go E90/92 M3 or E60 M5 (if you need a larger vehicle). If you like hellaflush then get the GS or even an LS.

I look at those 50+ year olds getting out of their sports cars and the grimace on their face as they try their best to look cool while contorting themselves for the entrance and exit. Don't be one of those...get the sports car while young lol.
 
bmw ftw. my son in- law owns a modified 6 speed manual m6 fully loaded and that beast is just crazy. There is no substitute for an M car, as i say again
 
I had a GS, it was a great car. The new models are even better but not exceptionably mod friendly. Limited as to what I could do with it (with regards to hauling gear, really can't fit 6 sticks of 8' cap molding in a sedan W/O F'ing it up.......so I bought an FX.......BUT why worry about it now boss? Use the company mini van and driver for the next couple years, take a cab or ride the MTR while in the Kong or Kowloon, and look at the new car models when you return.
 
GS looks soooooooo much classier than an IS-F, IS-F still screams rice imo..

Just imagine a white, black or Maroon GS with some nice and tasteful 20s' or even 22s', a small drop with tint all around... That's hot like fire...

Actually I love the M5. But this is just like the debate between the X6 and the FX50. Similar performance, but is one really worth that much more than the other?

I'd probably just get a used M5 for around the same price as a new CTS-V, given the choice.
 
IS-F is a great car, Ive had mine for a year and get real rush every time I start the car.

But if you are planning to have kids soon, you may want to get the 460. Its got decent power and room.

Check-out ClubLexus and make your decision then.

IS-F is geared to the single man ricer. Someone who riced out their Civics, but wants something more grown up.

Motor Trend just had their shootout this month of approx $50,000 premium mid-level sport sedans.

8) Infiniti M35 S ( new version is coming out though M37)
7) Acura RL (Horrible, Horrilbe, Horrible, etc...Horrible)
6) Lexus GS350 ( they say its just boring)
5) Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI
4) Jaguar XF 4.2
3) Mercedez E350
2) Audi A6 3.0 Auattro
1) BMW 535i

My vote would be for the Audi A6, BMW M5, and Jaguar XF. I'm not a big fan of the IS-F, and I think there are optional/better choices than the other 2 Lexus.

I think dopie is just going to have to drive some sedans. IS-F and GS aren't even in the same category, so they're not that comparable. The GS is a great car (brother in law owns one), but it is somewhat boring. It would be great to cruise around in, way more comfortable than my old IS350. This is just my opinion, but the IS is too much of a compromise if you have a family. They just put the back doors on as an afterthought, it's really a 2 dr. coupe and a small one at that. Do you want less interior room than a Toyota Corolla?

M5 is slower than a CTS-V; but it also drives completely differently. Neither one is better, but it's going to depend on the person which one they prefer. When we're talking about that kind of power, it starts to get somewhat meaningless. 99% of the time, you won't be able to really go all out in a car like that. It's easy for everyone to internet race these cars, but you're just going to have to go drive them.

Later this summer, I'm likely getting an E93 M3 since I already have the Infiniti for practicality. For that kind of money, I could get some faster cars. But it's not all about speed; I think that it's more about how fun the car is to drive. Currently I drive around the city in a Protege5 since I have a long 1.3 mi. commute to work. This thing has a whopping 130 hp. Surprisingly, it's way more fun than one of my previous cars with north of 450 hp and a huge turbo. It's because I can drive it flat out all the time while if I did that in a high hp car, I'd wreck it.

after driving both a cts-v 6speed and my son in laws m6 6 speed, the cts-v is side ways constantly, through the gears, even with traction on.
