pick up this from the local infiniti dealership:glasses:

the demo fx50 in the stealership has it and it looks pretty good. some be even beter with black car so the black trim isn't so obvious.

way over priced though came out to be around 250CAD with tax:tdown:
brought it cause that part of the bumper had a little run in with my garage door:embarrassed: and so that I can take let me dog into the trunk without having to bring around an embrassing towel to cover the bumper everytime.

from the instruction look easy enough to install the hardest part will be waiting for few day of warm weather.
hopefully i don't get laugh at for getting excited about this simple mod lol but imo it look quite nice, only if its black chrome than it will be perfect.

Hey that should look real sweet. Look forward to seeing it installed.

I put the clear bra over that section to protect the finish on my FX.
 
Is the underside flat? Looks nice but also looks kind of thin so I'm wondering how much of the bumper will it protect. Looking forward to the the install pictures.

I'm still thinking about it, I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it or not. I wanted to get a clear bra for the car but I put it off so so long that I already have stone chips in the hood and the back bumper has already been scratch by my dog + the garage door. i rather this metal protector than the black rubber ones i see on every other suv. Found a pic I took awhile back at the dealership, on black fx too.

underside is flat, not complete protecting but I believe the whole flat area will be safe beside the area the protector cover is where ALL my scratches and dents are on lol.

I'm worry that when I get my rims it might look weird cause i'm going what to go with blackout theme, it looks to be 3m double side tape. is that easily removed without damage to the paint if I do go through with it?

looks good..... as for the garage door, move the sensors higher (bumper level). that way the door wont close if the bumper is sticker out.

disclaimer: dont do this if you have small children walking around the garage when you close your garage door !
 
^^ I live in a 10+ yr house, i don't think the garage door uses laser sensor? only pressure sensor when it hits something it will go back so it doesn't kill any kids or animal only break their skull.

This is the first time I have done this, I'm always ultra careful and baby it, i even mark the wall of the garage so i know its the "Safe line"

got a little careless cause i was messing with my radar detector, I still hate myself for being so dumb. I actually close the garage door 2 times before realizing my baby's ass is in the way
 
I think that looks good, if it covers the existing damage then def put it on... it should help alot for future use too...
 
I use the tennis ball on a string to make sure I'm in the garage far enough to clear the door works great!
 
it matches really well the bumper protector. if your afraid of it looking awkward after getting new rims why dont u just black it out? i say go for it!

as for the garage door situation lol. I just back up into the garage door, and watch the backup camera until im completely out of room. I can see this being a hassle though if you had groceries/crap in the back
 
i park in my driveway :-/ and in a lot at school....hasnt been garage kept for 2 years
 
that piece looks really good. I would install it if that were my FX. Did you get hit leaving or parking inside your garage?

I'm thinking of getting one. The only thing stopping me is I can think of so many other things I could get for $176.00.

+1 I think it looks ok now and you can always paint it to match your theme later on.

that shoot of it on the car is one of the fx at the local stealership, the weather forecast say I won't get sunshine at least not this week:frown:

I want to paint it black chrome, however I got the piece to protect my bumper in the first place, having it painted means my dog with still leave noticeable scratch on the metal bumper protector making it look really scruff up.

Can you get a wider shot? Also, how thick is this piece?

$176? where are you getting it for this price? i assume this is US? at the dealership? And imo i think this is not a good way to spent 200$ I wouldn't have pick it up but I didn't mess up my bumper

Yeah, at a California dealership. I personally think this piece should be around $50, maybe $75 max.
