Got my new 2010 fx insured today

I bought a pearl white with wheat interior with
premium pkg and touring in Ta Oma and brought it home to
BC. I wanted Nav but it was brain surgery trying to get
the colour combo with wood interior. I thought getting a built
in Nav system would be pretty easy after market but that
seems to be rocket science. A y tips on this?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to get nav on the screen. The easiest way is to find a portable GPS unit that has composite out and run it through the AUX input. Plus the e-brake bypass.

All other ways are going to be quite costly.
 
Thanks everyone---ha ha ha--after I got my insurance it started to snow here on Vancouver Island (it is fairly warm in the winter and wet and we hover usually not going much lower than zero degrees). So I have elected to keep the FX in the garage and drive my subaru until the snow, salt and road grime go away--rats!--thats Murphy's Law . My husband is so pleased with this purchase , he has a permanent smile on his face. which s nice to see.
 
Welcome to the Scene Wendy! Glad you and the hubby are pleased with the FX as it is a GREAT vehicle. As for the nav, if you did not purchase the oem unit then the easiest and the cheapest way would be to get a portable aftermarket unit. If you want to spend the extra $$$ and go with the installed unit then there are options like a nav-tv unit that will send the video signal to the oem screen or a complete 2nd video screen for the nav as well as other audio/video capabilities.
 
Got 2010 FX35 not long ago. Worst navigation I ever use. My tomtom blow it out of the water or probably any portable gps. Here a comparison.

TomTom or other portable gps.
Pros:
*New maps quarterly update
*Faster touch responsiveness
*Better route calculation and reroute.
*Ready to use, a cave man can use it.
*More poi and update
*Map share user support (Free real world user update of changing roads)
*Free speed trap warning alert and update

Con:
*Smaller screen
*Not easy to integrate to vehicle
*Thieves can get hold of it( but is so cheap you can get another more)

Infiniti In-car Nav
pro:
*Bigger screen
*slight higher resolution screen
*Integrated

con:
*Not user friendly
*Expensive
*Less responsive
*Map update slow to release and expensive to update

Bottom line

After market portable is superior and in car nav are for eye candy only. Sorry no good tips for the Infiniti nav. We're stuck with it

I have the 09 navigation and although it has less features, it works well for me and I don't really mind it. I only use it to get from a to b and it is pretty user friendly for me.
