to answer a few questions....

Yes the lights are all wired and working beautifully, and compliment the FX very well in my opinion, they are very bright even in daylight, but look best at night:biggrin:,the lights i ordered from MB they were $57 cdn.ea ,wire, adhesive, automotive goop included i spent maybe another $30,I also bought a package of quick connects they were $0.88 for a package of 3,so all in total i spend about $180 on this mod, plus the time to do it...i was a lil intimidated to do the wiring myself but figured what the heck.the mistake i made with that was that i did not ensure that the oem signal wire was sitting in the channel of the quick connect properly so when i closed it it cut the oem wire in half and i had no signals at all on the passenger side..a quick trip to the hardware store and i came back with a splice so crisis averted, the install took about 4 hours mainly because of that, and wth only one person...thanks to many on this forum and on the ORG for the writeups and the encouragement to even attempt this myself, namely Turbocad..i figured for sure this guy was gonna get tired of answering my many questions about the same thing, but he was patient,VERY helpful, promt with answers and full of encouragement..a testament to him as a person...nuff respect!
Next mods will be HID fogs(not sure i can pull that one off myself, because i don't think i have the balls to try to remove my front bumper myself:biggrin:) clear tails if i can get them and the 06 shift indicator mods...been waiting on forum member Jeffer$on from toronto, who claims he is a parts guy who can get great deals, but has not responded to a question for a price quote on that and a few other parts...thanks to all for the nice comments

p.s Hey Turbocad if you ever decide that grille is getting old or you are gonna come up wth something fresh and new for your FX i want first dibs on it,it is seriously off tha hook and totally original...i love it!!

dude, If I can take off my front bumper, you should have no problem... I used one of the write-ups from here. And some have said you can put them on without removing the bumper, so you might wanna consider that as well. good luck!

I couldn't get my bumper off for the HID fogs, and I personally think I found an easier method. All I did was remove the wheel well plastic and it gave perfect access to the foglight and mounting points.
One thing about mounting the ballasts. Only do it on a flat surface. My ballast already fell off the vertical mounting point I used from a little tug on the wires when I was checking something. Also, I would use the zip ties to secure it through the holes in the ballast. Or see what TheMerchant did, because is far superior to both ways I have mentioned.

I was pretty skeptical at first, cause I had never removed a bumper before. The hardest part for me was getting to the 2 bolts on each side that holds the bumper to the fender and pulling the grill out, was afraid of breaking it.
I took off the bumper cause I wanted to be able to mount the ballasts a little higher up.. it rains more and floods easier down here. If our weather was as nice as Dallas, I don't think I would have bothered.

btw, sorry for getting off topic supacat..

See, when I took out the well trim, I was able to mount all the way up to the headlight. There's basically a tower of room from the tire to the hood, and I just opened up the hood to get a better view and mounted everything from the bottom. Mine are basically mounted in the "hump" below the headlight, and I am confident they will be safe. I don't think I had as many options as those of you who removed the bumper, but I also knew I wouldn't have an issue when I tried to put it all back together.

interesting. Will have to try that next time.
It's basically 6 10mm bolts on the bottom, 2 screws along the wheel well trim, and 3 of those plastic push pins. This on my '07 though, so it could be different. Oh, and I removed the tire to give me more room under there.
