Goodbye FX

OEM windshield is around $1000 , had mine replaced after my trip.

It's going to be weeks if not months till everything is back to normal. Not just my car, but my house, street, and entire town. Insurance adjusters dont even want to come out right now cause of the mess.

My neighbor across the street with the copper 1st gen FX came with a big U-Haul truck today and moved out. He moved in during the summer and moved out yesterday. Guess he plans on putting up the new house for sell. His whole basement flooded by the way.


I noticed on my Facebook wall I see some retards complaining that they are bored and have no power and nothing to do when there are people out there that have lost EVERYTHING but the clothes on their back. Stuff like that truly disgusts me.
 
Sorry about your FX. I parents still in NY, my mom works in Westchester Medical Center and has been at work for the last 3 days. They haven't gone home to Rockland County yet. I hope no trees fell from the wooded area behind our house. Be safe out there and I hope the recovery is going well!
 
FX will go off to Martino Auto Concepts where I got it fixed the last time my car was hit. I'm having it sent there on Tuesday morning. I prefer it to be there to have an estimate so they can tell the adjuster what exactly needs to be done and if the car may be totaled.

Honestly though if it can be repaired I would accept that because:

1. The car has alot of sentimental value to me. No matter what FX replaces it that car will never be my original car I fell in love with.
2. I find their paint job to be even better than the manufacturers paint. For some reason the PPG ceramic paint withstands rockchipping better than Infiniti's paint.
3. With all thats being done I could probably get some extra things thrown in.
4. Maybe upgrade to the 2012 front end???

But I would gladly accept a new FX too.
 
Good luck with everything! It's definitely unfortunate that out of all people this ha to happen to you. But every cloud has a silver lining and hopefully the shop works with you and you get some "pain & suffering" kickbacks. (If you know what I mean)

The way the lady at progressive was talking like they were probably going to total it. But I hope not:disapointed: If it gets repaired I will post up the invoice. But I'm thinking it's going to cost like $10K+ cause it needs new fenders, hood, windshield and mirror, plus repainting the whole car. Just the one mirror alone is like $1,200 cause I have the around view monitor and the windshield is like $1K too.

Wow man I'm sorry for your loss. I made sure to steal one of the few spaces in an area with no trees or powerlines. It was windy as hell in Brooklyn!
 
if your not going to sell your fx, id say let them total it. If you're going to end up selling it. I would rather let them give me a big check and let the car go.
