Hi guys, been awhile since ive been looking for a fx. I came cross to a 03 fx45 with 120k miles with no navi.

all the services have been done from what i know. Do you guys think 120k miles might be too high to be considered? would the oil consumption problem get worse as the miles rack up?? any other potential problems that i need to be aware of?

What would be a fair price to pay for it? The owner is asking for 16k.. comments are greatly appreciated. THanks guys!

I don't know I mean these things are reliable but if it was me rounding up all of those miles I would feel happy but purchasing an 03 with 120k on the mileages is tough because of oil comsumption and maybe other issues. I say look around you find something in that price range with less mileage, at least for the peace of mind get something in the 70 to 80k

thanks for the quick reply beast! Most of those miles are highway miles so i hope they are some gentle mileage. as for the price. you think 13k is a good buy if i can take him down?

I would buy for $15k

if car wasn't abused and has service records, than 120k is not bad.
Take it to mechanic to make sure no hidden expensive repairs, and if all good,I would buy ! :tongue (2):

IMO 16k is high for a car with 120k miles, n how do you know those are hwy miles?
14-14.5k is the best I would offer. even better if you can get one with about 75k miles on it. The FX is reliable given that it hasn't been ignored of regular maintenance routines.
but if this is your only option then ask for all the service records, have a mechanic check the vehicle for hidden problems, thoroughly inspect the vehicle yourself, drive it hard for a good 20 minutes, focus on what you are hearing. offer 14.5k as your final price before taxes and/otherwise BE READY TO WALK OUT.
Good Luck, hope to see you here soon...:iS::tup:

thanks for the advice guys! I'll keep you guys updated on this one. Hopefully I can be a fx owner within this week:laugh::tup:

There are lots of us with high miles and no problems. The miles are high though and will work in your favor on price. With 120k miles, $14k-$15k is probably fair for a well optioned FX in great condition.

I think I might potentially sell mine in the very near future if this job deal goes through (I'm gonna switch to M35S or M37S. I'm done playing with the FX). Mine has 55k miles on the odometer and i drove it less than 2k miles this year. I have been driving less and less since I don't need this car. I am the first and only owner. I drive it once a week for about 10 minutes to Starbucks to keep the battery alive. I can assure you that my car is pristine since it is my garage queen. No dings, scratches or any other blemishes. I have title in hand

You can have all the parts added on the vehicle plus all my stock parts and a set of Stock 20s w/ tires. How much are you looking to pay?

I have 115k miles on my car and no indication that it will fail anytime soon. Oil consumption is not getting worse, it actually got better since I changed to 5w-40.

Still, $16k is way too much, especially with no tech package. I would pay probably $12 for that, max.

I got my FX45 2006 with 58000 miles in 2011 it now has 123770 miles and I have no problems, just the basic maintenance. i also use AMSOIL for all the oil changes and tranny and differentials.
