Go to a V8

+1 with that. The QX70 will need some new model relatively soon. Of course, being a niche vehicule helps Infiniti as I bet there is less pressure to redesign the QX70 than the Q50.Btw, am I the only one that think it is sad to lose the engine in the name of the vehicle? Now on topic, I had the V8 for almost a year and I do not regret it.

wow, this thread changed a bit, but i'd like to add something if i may ... i'm an old dog from the days of rebuilding big blocks in the 70's; my favorite then was the 396, or the 383's in the Challengers, even the 390 ... so i do love the V8; but i must say the FX35 is extremely impressive, more that enough for me, and she purrs; the sound is almost preferred to the V8, although i wish my gas mileage was better ... so i too thought i need a 45 or 50, but then i can't part with my 2005 as i love the tilt cluster on the dash, the heavyass shifter, and the lighting ( better not to have protruding lights that break easily ) sooo, i'm currently employed at Mahle / Behr and am thinking of punching this 3.5 to whatever with the Mahle piston set etc ... anyone out there with experience?

I'm old school too, had 383 Road Runner, 340 Duster, 440 Cuda, and many more. Had a FX35 and really enjoyed it, then I yearned for more torque and ponies so went with the FX50S and absolutely love it love it. Oops did I say that twice :smug:

Ya, all nice machines, back in the days when Chrysler meant something ... of course they were Dodge :) I had a couple of Pacifica's then the Grand Jerokee and they were an absolute disaster ... my Lincoln Mark VIII were fine V8's

if you could get a v8 into a infiniti car it would make more sense to me. the FX will never be a racecar so whats the point of getting even worse gas mileage? for what? you wont ever be "fast." if you want a faster car, then start with a platform with more potential. i like the FX37 the way it is. its a great balance of power with the vehicles size. my truck has a v8 so it can tow. my boat has a big block v8 so it can go fast.
