Glossy Carbon Fiber 3M Dinoc interior

It took me roughly 3.5 hours between 2 days. Once you get the hang of it, you just keep going. Having the heat gun is what makes this an easy DIY. The hardest part is probably the most tedious part, cutting out the holes for buttons. Just dont be scared, worse come to worse, you can always take it off. The Vinyl is forgiving, so u can peel it off and reapply to reposition and stretch it a little.

I did my steering wheel controls in the car, I didn't want to take off the steering wheel. Heat gun and a hobby knife are the main tools you need.

For the Steering wheel, do I just need to remove those two screws at the rear of the steering wheel? Also does that brushed aluminum piece above the odometer pop out. I was messing with it, but nothing seemed to give at either end so I gave up, didn't want to snap it. Thanks
 
From what people said either the steering wheel is a little more in-depth than that. But that may not have been for the 1st gen? I think i am going to mess around with the leftover wrap and just try to put it on the steering wheel without taking it apart ... worst case i just take it off

i got 5 sq feet. it was $22 plus an extra 3 or 5 for shipping (depending how impatient you are!) that was just for the handles and the two center pieces. IF you also want to do the vents and around the GPS i don't know how much you need? I have some left so I can attempt to get the steering wheel done and some other odds and ends.

I say go for it! It is easy (especially with the help of Andy) and looks good. You can really get it done at any time though. Just get the pieces off and do it inside!
 
^Did my body trims and rear emblem 9 month ago. They look great now, even survived midwest winter.
 
quick question on this ! did you use a large piece then cut to fit on the two center pieces ? or did you use two smaller pieces and lined up the CF lines. personally what scares me is not the wrap itself but lining everything up correctly I'd personally freak if the lines were not aligned, lol
 
You will have to use multiple pieces and try to line them up as you go. They're very easy to feel and adjust. Believe me, this stuff is very easy to work with and very giving. Anyhow, the cutout/left over say from the shifter panel will not be large enough to be use on the cup holder cover since you will have leave some slack to wrap the around and underneath corners and edges.
 
No, you have to cut it out and glue it back. Here a couple of pic of the trim on the shift knob.

I actually did not remove the piece off I actually just wrapped it while on the shifter. Then proceeded to just apply pressure then I just used my finger nail on the edges of the piece that you removed then proceeded to use a knife to remove the excess pieces.
 
anyone know how this will look with the wheat interior? i have an 07 so doesnt have the black dash and wheat seats. brown dash unfortunately. Or what about that fake wood dash. Wrap looks way better then the 3m stickons
 
There "silver" color 3m -DiNoc CF. I think it might look better with wheat interior. Here is a sample of "silver" CF. Just imagine with wheat interior :wink (2):
