Girlfriend's Honda Accord Is Stuck In My Drive Way

Need help guys on whether to junk this car. My girlfriend has an 04 Honda Accord and she was over at my house earlier and it's stuck in my driveway now. The car won't reverse when you put it into reverse. Even if you give it gas it doesn't move. And it clunks when you put it into drive and it also won't move when you put it into drive and the AT check light is on I think. Also for the past few months she started to notice that the car slams when it downshifts and jerks everytime you accelerate.

Only way to get it out of my driveway is to put it in neutral and push it out. Going to have to call a tow truck in the morning sounds like the transmission is done for. She just has the transmission replaced a year ago per the TSB from Honda.:bulgy-eyes:

Push it in the street. Call the tow truck for an abandoned vehicle. Get a new girlfriend.

That's not too harsh is it?

Those trannys are know for going out. I would think the replacement is still under Honda warranty.

I had an 03 accord which the tranny was slipping. Had heard the transmissions during that time were notorious for failing so thats when I traded it in for an FX.

If it was fixed within 12 months ago, would it all be covered under their warranty? If not, I say she should consider trading it in unless she really would rather not have a car note (assuming that one is paid off)

Yes I have hear alot of complaints about the trannys being no good.

It was towed to the dealer this morning lol. Dealer checked the computer and said she was past the 1 year warranty by it for a few weeks. So she has to wait till monday for them to call corporate and let them decide if Honda will replace the transmission AGAIN under goodwill. If she has to pay the car is getting junked.

Part it out and use the funds for a down payment on a 1st Gen FX.

Good idea she could find a nice 03-04 for good money

By the way the code that was for the AT was P0740 for some torque converter. Don't know what exactly the cause but Honda says its needs a new transmission.
