Hi everyone,

I'm debating whether to get the Gianelle Spidero 5 wheels or not but came across some concerns...

Someone at The Wheel Warehouse told me that those wheels "bend and break" easily, so they "don't carry it anymore."

Anyone have any bad experiences with this brand/set of wheels? I'm thinking of getting the Machined w/ Black ones.

Also, 20" or 22", can't decide...

Two members have those wheels and they have not reported anything like that. EG3 and Raymond will probably chime in. The other thing to think about is what would be his motive for telling you that. If their is no motive then only thing their is probably some truth. Good luck in your choice.

I didn't have any problems in the short period I used them. Will be putting them back on around mid April. Here're my thoughts:

- They look awesome. I personally don't like wheels with lips. I think it makes the wheel look smaller than it is so for me it's one of the best looking lipless wheels on the FX.
- The black insides are matte black which I think is a much better choice at this wheel.
- The wheel weight is not really light so don't think of a 22" version of Ultraleggeras. They weight around 40 lbs which is much heavier than the stock 20s
- The ride is much stiffer with 22s, especially when coupled with stiffer/shorter springs. This will apply to every 22 out there but IMO, I couldn't handle riding with 22s in Boston throughout the year.
- The offset is not aggressive at all. I have 22x9 +38, Ray has 22x10.5 +40. So if you want a flush look you'll either have to use spacers with 22x9 or get 22x10.5 size. I will post pics with 20mm spacers in April so if you have patience, you can take a look later.

Now the two down sides are the weight and offset. If you want to focus more on performance, I think it might not be a very good choice. In my case, I value performance but it's a good thing that something keeps me in check & slows me down when the weather is nice.:smile:

22" ride stiffer as in better handling, or stiffer as in if I cruise down the 10 West-bound with a cup of coffee, by the time i reach San Gabriel, my coffee's all over the front seats? :.smile: (ppl who live in LA knows what i mean)

I'm not planning on lowering it, but thinking of at least getting the stb/rear tie.

I think he means less rubber to cushion your ride.

Ton answered it there for you.. Less comfortable ride. IMO, if you're not going to lower, don't get 22s at all. They look weird with stock springs. Additionally, I think lowering is one of the best mods to improve the look and handling. My stockers never looked this good on stock springs.

Its a very nice looking wheel, the Spideros 5 were on the top of my list for a while. I would lower if you are going with 22s, only other option is to go with bigger tires, like in the 305 range to take up that gap between the tire and fender. A few other members are running 305s or 315s, just a matter of what you like.
