Gianelle Spidero 5 22's

I'm looking at the Gianelle Spidero 22's and had a few questions for those of you running 22's. I was going to stay away from them because of the weight but damn, the Spidero's look awesome on our cars.

How much of a weight hit would I take with these? I tried searching for Gianelle wheel weights here and on Google but couldn't find any info.

I also noticed the offset is pretty conservative. If I get them I want to run the 22x9 38et with a 285/40/22 tire. I'm also getting H&R springs installed at the same time. What size spacer would put me flush to the fender without any rubbing issues? I was leaning towards 20mm but thought that might be aggressive with the 285 tires.

Sorry for all the wheel questions lately, I just got my FX and I'm itching to improve it's stance, especially after seeing the rides everyone on here has.

22x9 = 37 lbs, not bad. I wouldn't be concerned about the weight.

285/40/22 is a bit tall, you might rub. 265/40/22 is more ideal and is closest to OEM tire diameter.

9" wide on 38 mm offset is very conservative as you said. You need 25 mm spacer to bring you to flush. 20 mm spacer would be just barely tucked in, which is probably what I would suggest.

With either a 20 or 25 mm spacer on a 265/40/22 tire, you will not rub. 285/40/22 tire, you will most likely rub on rough roads. You can shave your fender and is a simple fix.

With no spacer, you wouldn't have to worry with a 285/40/22 tire.

My suggestion? Go 20 mm spacer, 265/40/22 tire -- semi-aggressive stance with no rub issues.
 
Good luck finding a set, I looked for almost 5 months.. The only ones I could find were in chrome. Ended up finding a set of 24" chrome ones that I had black powder coated.. I agree, they look great on the FX's!
 
Thanks for the detailed response Chedman, much appreciated. I was all set to order the 22x9's when I came across a set of the same wheels in 22x10.5 with a 40mm offset. This should fit with no spacers necessary and still be pretty flush right? Or will I have rubbing issues with that width and H&R springs?

Yes, much better. To go closest to flush to give you an idea:
9" +38 mm offset = need +25 mm spacer
10.5" +40 mm offset = need +5 mm spacer

I'd run 10.5" +50 mm offset without any spacers.

Just note that 10.5" is a bit wide for the front, so you really need to use a Hunter Road force balancer and get it down into the single digits of "road force" (i.e. minimal vibrations) to get no annoying steering wheel shakes.
 
Any Euro's looking for the same wheels......i'm thinking on selling my 10,5 x 22's :wub:

Shipping back to the US might just be to expensive.....i gues.
 
I run 22x9 Giovanna Kilis wheels with 285/40R22 Toyo tires, 25mm Ichiba v2 wheel spacers and stock suspension (for now), and I haven't had any issues. It has only rubbed once in the rear when I was overloaded with passengers and cargo and I went over a dip a little too fast. Nothing a fender roll wouldn't fix. Go with the wider tire and spacers. You won't be disappointed.
