Gearbox coming loose.

Hi,

Thanks to you guys, I took care of my K&N Air filter, motor oil (Mobil 1EP), oil filter (K&N), and incabin filter (filtermaster) yesterday... can't believe I did it all by myself (of course w/ IS forum!)

I noticed my circular plastic gearbox (I think that's what its called) is loose. When I shift to Drive (and also back to Parking mode), the gearbox moves around as well.. I'm thinking about super-gluing it.... any suggestions?

that is the shifter panel, probably just have to take it off and make sure they screwed it on properly. ///354

Did you replace the shifter panel yourself? or did you buy your FX that way? Like fxlr8 has said it is probably just a loose screw.

I bought the car 2 weeks ago.... It's a '04 FX35.....
My goodness, this whole console dismantling looks confusing...
I seriously think all I need is to tighten one screw and it should be ok...

It is simplier than what you think bro.. Just fallow the steps. Most likely Is a loose screw..

by looking at fxlr8's step-by-step page, all I need is to pop up the front console and tighten the loose screw.. right? I don't think I'll need to worry about using double tape for shifting placement... do I? dang, I'm soo handicap when it comes to cars... so sad...

Well since you didn't do the original swap, first step is to remove the console and see what the original owner did. If they didn't use screws...add them.. Remember, the 04's did not come with that shifter panel from the factory.

that spefiic style shifter plate/leather boot did not come with the 04 that's why yours is all loose somebody put that in..... but yeah, check screws and such
