DO NOT USE BOTH FILAMENTS OF THE OE BULBS!!!!!!!!!
The OE bulbs get too hot when using both filaments My headlight housings melted!!!!!
The only good news here is that I have not had them changed out under the service recall yet. Guess I will be doing that soon!!!

Wow, thanks for the heads up! I just undid the DTRL-Turn signal swap. I'll switch back once I get a hold of a good set of DTRL LEDs.

I never did the Dtrl signal swap, but to be safe I just took out the Dtrl bulb until I can find a led Dtrl that matches my 8k headlights.

DAMMMMMIT!!!!!
Just called INFINITI and it looks like I'm screwed on having ny headlights exchanged under the Headlight Recall. I bought the FX used and apperantly the recall was performed in Feb 0f 07. So now I need to find some headlight replacements anyone have a set laying around?

I think his inner covers melted.. Can you just take those covers out (after taking apart the headlight assembly) since you'll have an outer lens anyways? Maybe it'll affect the light output direction but you're going to have a DTRL or turn signals in that spot anyways..

You probably only need the plastic covers right?
Here is someone selling them in the classifieds for $40.

Yup I saw that but it's the inner part that melted.

Pretty sure I'll have to replace both whole headlight assy's. Hopefully I can find a deal on some. Would be cool to find some sports.

Wanted to add some info about the JLC bulbs.

I already planned on returning mine tomorrow, so I took them out just now. I think my headlights have been on for maybe 2 hours at most, and these things were burning hot. I could barely get them out. As you can see, the plastic has changed color, the lens melted a little, and the inside is burned. One of these was in the DTRL spot, and one was in the turn signal spot. Turn signal one faired a little better.

reminds me of that one pic I saw of the Infiniti starting on fire due to bad headlight mod.....but in this case, the bulbs.

Did you see the pictures? That alone is enough. I already wanted to return them anyway because I figured they may work now but will have issues most likely in the future, which I realize now they did.

Okay so for those of you who are still waiting for the refund, I strongly recommend that you call JLC (626) 872-6942 directly. My bulbs arrived at their office 7 days ago but I was not notified by them yet so I decided to give them a call. I speaked to Kenji and he was very helpful in the return process. I instantly got $38 ($35 bulbs + $3 shipping) back through Paypal.

Good luck guys

Yeah I ended up not going by because I had to drive from Baldwin park to Redondo, and it was almost 5 pm. Traffic was already bad enough.
