What you said makes sense in general but when MTN FX hooked up the bulbs directly to the battery it still flickered. Doesn't that mean that something's up with the bulbs themselves? I'm not saying that we will not need modules (in fact, we may) but I don't think that's the primary issue here.

Also the bulbs we are replacing were only 5 watt.

Spoke with Luis tonight regarding the bulb issues and JLC is serious about getting this right. They feel badly about possibly rushing to the market on these bulbs and he confirmed again that they will be testing on a 35 tomorrow and as long as it takes to make sure they make these bullet proof.

Hopefully my flicker is not related, since the 921 reverse leds have been out for some time....I believe.

Stu, thanks for the comparison pics. Not sure if these 921 bulbs worth $35 for the results that I have observed from the posted pic.

Question for JLC... Will you notify us when things are good to go, and we can send out our $35 payment??? I only ask because you said the GB price was good till the 15th...

Let me know if you want any other shots. The thing I do like is they seem to light up off to the side well. I'll put in both tonight and see what it looks like backing up in the dark.

Acura driver here.

I haven't had any flickering issues, but I only tested one light for about 20 minutes. The light was bright as advertised and sent the beam pretty far.

I'm not using them now, because one of the lenses popped out of the bulb and is somewhere in my headlight or garage floor. There doesn't seem to be any glue or anything holding the lens in.

I'd love to post some pictures, but I don't have enough posts to do so.

Well their website states a 15% restocking fee on returned items. Not sure if that also applies to this group buy. If it does, I would say it is worth testing them out at least.

man this GB is turning into a cluster f*** isn't it? Of course that's gotta happen with the largest GB ever! good thing JLC is a good man and taking care of you guys.

spent some time today testing the new DTRL bulbs we made last night. So far its been on for about 2 and half hours without any problems. But we are still going to test this out throughout the week and give it time to see how it performs. Some technical parts were changed to compensate with the heat.

Will keep IS posted. And once it is confirmed that it is stable for the DTRL, we will begin manufacturing and sending out as replacements. For those who have received their bulbs, please send it back to me and I will send out a new set. Please get delivery confirmation for both our protection. Thanks IS!

Oh forgot to mention that we will not charge the restocking fee if you do decide to return the item. Since we caused the problem, we will stick to it and get everyone fixed! THanks IS

[QUOTE MTN FX: At operating tempatures of over 170 to 180 degrees they seem to be overheating. And this was out in the open those temeratures would most likely be much higher in the confined space of the headlight area.]

I'll send my bill later :)

So it appears that heat was the issue. Do I need to send the two bulbs that don't work back and if so will you be paying for the postage?
