Hi all:

We are planning out our new products for 2009. One of the items that's on the drawing board are the FX35/45 fender braces.

Want to see how many people might be interested. Minimum production quantity will be 20 pieces.

Benefits : It's reinforce the front engine compartment with the mid chassis of the car.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome ! Here are some pictures of how a fender brace look like !

That's cool!
For all out there, maybe give a little more info on the mod. like . .

Benefits?
Installation difficulty?
Cost approximation?

1. front engine reinforcement .... must like what the front four point braces does.

2. hardest part will be taking off the fenders. from there just bolts on. Possible might need to drill an extra hole or enlarge an existing holes, not sure yet till the R&D begins.

3. around $250 to $300 retail.

Ladder brace helps, but the most noticable improvements for chassis rigidity are the ones that increase the torsional rigidity of the car. Torsional rigidity is really the standard measurement for analyzing frame stiffness, and the only area that makes a difference is the area between the front and rear strut towers. The most effective stiffening modifications are the ones that will prevent twisting force between the towers. Fender bracing will help tie the strut towers to the firewall . . . a bit.
Not sure how much these would help though . . maybe.
Doesnt mean I myself am not interested though . . I am, but needs some real case data from other applications.

I'm in for it, need an fx to pop a fender or 2 off?

these may help the notorious creak situation we get in that area too, that's def flex...

yes, the most noticeable improvement are the strut tower brace. However, through pass experiences with our R&D team, the fender reinforcement provided extra rigidity to the complete chassis as a whole.

It's a common reinforcement brace use among circuit racing in Japan. Other manufacture that also produce similar brace for other vehicle included Nagisa Auto, J's Racing from Japan.

Also, quite alot of people have already tried our fender brace ... some post ..

You think were gonna be like , 'wow'?!?! that was huge!!! . . just like the lateral bracing?
I love all the bars so far.
Keep up the good R&D!

i agree that the other braces to this point are absolutely killer. these seem like a little bit of overkill to me though. can't imagine it would have nearly as much impact as a lower engine tie or strut tower brace. those things span gaps of 3+ feet where there was no bracing at all. these are just adding additional reinforcement where a considerable amount of material already exists. i'm not doubting that they have an effect, i just doubt they'll be as "WOW" as some of the others.

We weren't expecting a "wow" response, but rather we were sort of holding back on making this piece.

The gauging interest thread I put up here is to really see how much response and if the the Fx owner will consider such upgrade.

Every new items that we put into R&D and production have an associate cost and because of the bad economy and minimum # of people that are modifying the FX , we are force to take more precaution in our R&D budget.

But yeah all the response and comments are very helpful !, thanks !

Any moving forward with this? I heard fender bracing will be one of the best bang for the buck to reinforce the chassis stiffness.

Not enough interest....? Really enjoying the full brace set as-is if a pair of the fender braces would tie the front end together even better could be a worthwhile investment. GTS needs to guinea pig it up!
