Gas Premium or Regular?

Premium only...

but I've been meaning to ask... Are there seriously any difference between the different brands? When I got my ECU reflashed... Tadashi was really specific on NOT going to Arco or Costco and places like that...

Arco rules in my book. It seems to be the best performing fuel outa everything that's gone in. Costco works well too. 76 performs horribly on mine. I get knock with it

Arco is the worst Dave, I don't know what you been smoking but its just slush lol. Chevron or shell premium seems to perform the best in my engine.

Dont have Arco down here so cant comment on that, but Chevron premium gets put in the FX and Shell premium goes in the Cooper S.

just came across this thread, yesterday i was talking to a service rep at the dealer and he said all v8 infiniti engines since 1990 require premium grade..but on my gas cap for my 45 it says "recommended" not required, what does yours say?

also, nowadays it might be good to use regular gas and just buy octane boost for a few bucks. just a thought

PREMIUM is cheaper than lower octane fuels because you have better efficiency with it. More miles per tank than lower octane fuels. There is no reason for anybody with an FX to EVER buy lower octane fuels. I did this test myself with a few other buddies with different cars and we all got the same result. The better MPGs you get with premium outweighs the "cost savings" of lower octane fuel.

Buying lower octane fuel and then an octane booster is not cost efficient - it's cheaper just to get the premium. Difference between 91 and 93 octane is usually ten cents. 20 gallon tank - $2.00 extra to fill your tank with premium. Try to find a bottled octane booster for less than 2 bucks.

I know guys that run injector cleaner once a month. I do it about four times a year. That and keeping your tires evenly inflated goes a long way towards MPGs.

Premo for sure BP, Shell, Chevron are the best gases in my area but deff not the cheapest. I run fuel injector cleaner once a month or so too.

I went to this sunoco station in palm beach yesterday and they had your standard reg and plus, but then they had premium which was 91oct and ultra 93oct. The funny thing is that ultra was cheaper so of course i got that like usual. Prob the first gas station ive seen offer 2 diff premium octanes.

sunoco ultra is 93 all over I think, & then theres just there premium which is 91, don't know if there are sunoco's all over the place though, out here they are
