Gas Mileage

I purchased my first Infiniti product on the 24th of April. :smile: I bought a 2010 FX35 rwd. Premium, touring, Navigation and roof cross rails. In what they call liquid Platinum, looks silver to me. I must say I am very impressed. Off the lot quality very good. I was worried that the gas average mpg was around 8 or 10, but the lady told me dont worry its tight. So my first question for this forum is if you can keep your foot outa the throtle what is a freeway mpg? I am kinda anal I have three coats of wax on it and it is smooth.
 
Sure its not an exact match, but I have an older FX45, and I'm all over my gas mileage on all my cars. Okay, I'm anal about everything. I would describe my driving style as "aggressive without jack-rabbit starts - usually". I'm about 50/50 for street/highway. Regular street driving gets me 11-13mpg. Pure highway (+/-80 mph) gets me 19-20mpg. I have a consistant average of +/-18 mpg.

I'm new in here too and have an FX35 but a 2003 model. Around town I get about 15 mpg but on a long run, mainly interstate, it's between 20-25mpg.

Ouch... didn't think the FX's are so bad on gas mileage. I for sure thought they were around 18 city/25 highway, especially with the V6... at least that is what I have been seeing advertised on the for sale ads.

The 45's dont do that well but, I'm getting 18/25 in my 35 not being heavy footed of course

I avg around 19+ on the dash computer.
And having 3 coats of wax is actually not better than having 1 coat of wax. The more coats you put on, the more dull your paint is actually going to look. My max is 2 coats, 1 synthentic sealant + 1 carnuaba wax.
 
sounds about right for my 2009 fx35, could be worse though old man has a cayenne s weighs much more and chugs more gas than air Im sure...
