I am not happy right now as someone or some group broken into my garage hours ago. They took my lighting, my tools, my power supply, my speakers, and many more items that effects how I work on my car. Calling the Chicago police will do nothing as many people gotten their garage broken in in my area. I just wish there was something I could have done to stop them....[emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35]

Sorry to hear that man. Keep an eye out on new listing in CL and eBay local to your area. A good number of the thieves are surprising so stupid.

I cannot believe it... Today marked the two years since I crashed my WRX. Having my garage broken in on the very same day but only at night.... WOW what a bad omen [emoji36] [emoji36] acded943403f967c247f08d1f1f637af.jpg

Sorry to hear! I know a thing or two about crashing cars as well. Terrible. I agree, you should definitely set up some cloud-based camera in there going forward. Catch these sumbitches if they come back!

Looks like they pried the door to disengage the latch. Was the deadbolt also engaged? Since this happened I would install a steel door frame and a deeper box strike for the deadbolt. It would limit the chance for prying and kicking the door in. A camera would be a great add, and perhaps a light that is motion activated upon entry.

Damm that sucks I hate scumbags leeches that think the world owes them.

Yes. They did pry it open. It makes me feel like my neighborhood is not safe anymore. That feeling how cannot leave the house without worrying about it. I have a steel door, but I don't lock the deadlock for my cousin. He comes home late and park in the garage. I already gotten a security system and thinking about a camera. The police was useless... They gave me a case number and awaiting for a detective to call me.... This is a comparison of how it was and now...

If you don't have the plan to purchase a full blown CCTV, install "dumb cameras" as a deterrent. This one looks real with the LEDs enough to discourage most burglars.

..or you can install a single stand alone unit that can be viewed live from a cell phone.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. You work hard to obtain the things in life that make you happy and some a_ _ holes come along and steals them because they're too lazy to earn them the right way. Hang in there brother.

We installed electronic locks on our front door, both the handle and deadbolt. Would be easy for relatives to use them. You can also set temporary codes. Still sucks and I would always feel like I need to look over my shoulder after that happened.
