G35 Rims on Fx35?

Hey,
I'm newb to the car scene, so if I say something pathetic I apologize in advance. I want to get a set of summer rims for the FX35, something that is OEM looking. So Ive been looking at R35, G35, G37, or 20inch Fx rims. Right now the most affordable is G35 I've been looking at, and I like em as well. So I was wondering if they would fit on the stock tire (P265/60R18),
(The rims are 10 spoke forged, cant really find a specific name for them, but the ad for the rims says there 18inch) (cannot post ad due to my numbers of post)
So my 2 questions are, would the stock tire fit on the rim, and would that fit on to the car?
Thanks

I can't think of a forged G35 rim in 18". There are 19" forged rims that came on the G35 Coupes. What year did they come from and was it a sedan or Coupe. Some of the 18 sedan rims are only 7.5" wide.
You will have to be more specific before we can tell you. The rim should be 8" wide for your tires. Older Coupe rims have offset of 30mm and the 1st Gen sedans have a 45mm offset.

I can't seem to post the link to the ad due to my amounts of post, but heres what the ad states, including rim specs:
For Sale in Toronto/Mississauga area:

18” OEM 5-split spoke rims from a 2005 Infiniti G35.
Rims only, no tires.

Specifications:
Front and Rear Wheel Size: 18”x7.5” +45mm offset
Bolt pattern: 5x114.3

$900 o.b.o.

I emailed him with the same question, to see if he would know and this was his reply

I'm not sure and I wouldn't want to give you wrong information and
have you stuck with rims you cannot use.
Check out a g35 or general infiniti forum online, or check with your dealer.
They came off a 2005 G35 sedan, and they are the stock 18 inch upgrade
from the base model 17inch, if that helps your search.

Thanks for replying so quickly.

They are nice rims , but they are not forged. Those rims will be narrower than your stock rims. I used to have them on my G35.

Here is a pic on my G:

They are asking too much for them also. I purchased some much cheaper than that.

I would get some FX20s if you can or if you want to stick to 18s, get another set of FX rims

21 inch enkei???? but those are not cheap and the tires that go with it is expensive as well. anything less than 20 inch is going to look funny on a second gen imo.

You should check out tirerack, most lipless rims can look pretty OEM. or you can just go the gtr route .

GTR route is pretty pricey as well, but I found replicas. Personally I do not like replicas, due to quality,, but I will post a link to the replicas I found online once I exceed my 10 post. I may check a few places in Toronto like tire rack, if the search takes too long.
Thanks

Hey minkl81
I received your PM, but I'm unable to reply since my post count is under 10. Could you contact me through this thread.
Thanks

I would say at least try to keep the same tire width of 265 like Beast was saying. GTR rims are great. If you are not in such hurry, I would suggest save up a bit and get a better set of rims instead going with G35 rims. Do it right and do it once; otherwise, you will be thinking of upgrading your rims again which you will not get much back from your G35 rims. From time to time, there are always people try to sell their oem rims, especially you are in Toronto which is a bigger market than Vancouver.

I think I may be leaning towards the R35 direction, depending on the pricing. I have a question though; There are a few sites that explain replica rims differently. Some say replicas are basically copied rims, and the other is rims that a refinish or fixed? In the link you showed me would the replicas be copies or refinished/fixed?

Might not be a bad deal if they ever had them in stock. The response will be "those are one of the hardest rims to find right now and we don't know when we'll get some in" I have never contacted Finish line wheels and had them turn up anything.........Maybe you will have better luck!

It did sound way too good to be true lol, by any chance do u know if anyone has put a set of te37 on their fx? Tried the search button didnt find anything.

if you are REALLLY patience you can find real gtr rims selling 1 by one from around 300 each. You can also have a set of all rears or all fronts this way. But you have to be aware of possibility of ending up with 4 rims that are slightly different color.

There is 1 set on ebay right now and 1 single ones. I was going to go with either one but end up just buying a complete mint set from a gtr forum

the set as of now is not a bad price however being in canada you are going to get rape with shipping fees and than rape a second time by Canada custom. Most seller ship by one of the courier companies you will than get rape a third time by the courier company's ridiculous brokeage fee.:embarrassed:

All the good deals are going to be in the states, but you should have alot more selection and better pricing being in TO. Here in van the ones that are willing to part with the rims want nothing less than 3000, i think if they could find a willing buyer they will even charge 1000/per rim:confused.:

I'll see if I can find something locally, so far I've only seen one r35 without its OEM rims, and the vehicle belongs to a shop. Every other r35 has its OEM wheels on it. What do you guys think of G37 rims for 2100$?
thanks
