G35 Brembo brakes on an FX35

Is this conversion possible?

My stock brakes are a little over-exposed, like Britney's tiny axe wound revealed between those thunderous thighs... Big brake kits are nice, but they're expensive. Has anyone done or seen an FX35 wearing G35 stoppers?

Thanks!

supposedly the new fx50 brakes may be a retrofit, projected prices for front & rear are at around $1,400 total.... don't think the g brakes would work without fabrication of caliper mounts at a minimum, plus the front axle design will be different from the g I think... haven't seen any mention of this kind of retrofit anywhere...

The old G Brembos wont fit, many have told us it wont unfortunately. The FX50 brakes can be retrofitted, the same way some with the 2nd gen G35's are retrofitting the G37 brakes.

Is it worth it?
They were talking about $1500 for the brakes in the .org but I think that's the fronts only. If it's 4 wheels, that's a great price as fronts are 14" and 4-pot, rears are 13" and 2-pot. That's about the same as Rotora and stoptech which are retailing for around $2500 for the fronts only..

edit: if it works out, even $1500 for the fronts is a great price. The closest to it in price is AP Racing kit but that's 13" rotors.

Cool, thanks for the quick info. I see that monetarily speaking it's not bad, which is why I originally had this idea in lieu of an aftermarket big brake kit.

In terms of stopping power, do you think it is worth it? Also, to retrofit, you think I'll need to upgrade other brake components as well like the master cylinder, etc?

it'd definitely increase the stopping power. More friction surface (14" rotors) + more pressure (4 piston calipers) = more stopping power.. I don't know if it'd improve the fx's spongy brake feel though. I personally don't think you'll need to replace anything else but upgrading to steel lines would be beneficial. It reduces the pressure loss from plastic lines and hardens the brake feeling at the point of the pedal grab.

It's too early to talk about the details now but I'd definitely like to get the FX50 brakes with drilled-slotted aftermarket rotors (if available) and Hawk HPS pads.. Now, THAT would be some awesome brakes..

I put the rotora 6 piston 14" on my front's, no issues with balance or other changes necissary & the brake feeling is dramaticly improved, so much so that the guy I bought the bbk's from, the day he had them swapped back to the oe's, he almost rearended someone forgetting how dramatic of a difference the braking actually was:tongue:

Trying to bring this post back I think it can be done. I know of a 1st gen G35x that swaped in these Brembo's. Anyone try it yet?
