My wipers have never broke on me. I usually replace mine with OEM wipers once every 3-6 months.
Word of advice to keeps wipers from scratching the windshield:
1. NEVER run the wipers with dirt/grit/or anything else on them. It will scratch or leaves streaks on the glass that are scratches
2. NEVER run the wipers dry. Running the wipers dry cause micro scratching streak marks from the wipers. If your going to use the wipers use them when the windshield is wet NOT dry.
3. Replace wiper blades once every 3-6 months to make sure the rubber is soft and supple. Stiff worn rubber on the wipers will lead to more roughness applied to the windshield which leads to more streak scratches.
