FX50s Resonator Delete

great to see fellow canucks modding up their fx. Blitz what color fx do you have? any exterior mods? I'm always around richmond hope to spot your fx in the wild so I can hear in person what the resonator delete on a 50 sounds like.

I roll around in a black fx35 with iS decal on the left window and invidia gemini catback, holla if you see me lol :tongue (2):

My fifty is diamond graphite. Only mod is the resonator delete and the camera mod. I traded my 05 brilliant silver G35 Coupe for it. Kids tend to do that to peeps... a pair of baby seats later and luckily I can't say I miss my G too much!

you have a video to hear the sound? i afraid the sound is going to be bad, i love the OEM fx sound i just want it louder and more aggressive! :)

yo post up a video of your FX50 exhaust (resonator delete) outside with you driving also....I want to see what it sounds like other than rev videos before I pull the trigger on deleting the resonator...

also, did you simply cut out the factory one and throw a pipe in there
? any pics?

Hi,...

I just had the resonators cut off and straight piped today at the local muffler shop (Hoegler's in Richmond, BC) and wanted to share my impressions for anyone else looking to try this.

The sound is deeper and has a nice V8 rumble to it now. There is a slight increase in drone in higher gears around 1700-1900rpm.
...
Back to the FX: I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a bit more bite from their FX50 without spending a bunch of cash on a complete system. Price31, no offense (and much appreciated that you led me onto this mod :rolleyes:) but the sound from your video almost put me off doing this as it seemed really loud. I bit the bullet and took the chance anyways and I can say that around town driving @ 6-7/10ths is actually really nice. Not too loud, not raspy, and not ricey!

I hope this closes the loop for anyone on the fence about this mod... the video is pretty loud and is representative of when you really hammer it. But brisk driving around the city, it was well worth the $150 spent!

PS Hoegler's did a great job and the welds look nice and clean.

Cheers!

Do you think you can post up a video that more accurately depicts the exhaust? under load and revving? that would be great.

Also, did either of you feel a loss in lower end torque? A shop that quoted me said I would lose low end torque on the v8....

let us know! :tup:
