2009 FX50S
Hi guys and gals,
As I enter an intersection, with a green light, at or below speed limit , say 40kmh........recently my 2009 FX50s will beep 3 times and briefly flash an icon , looks like a car icon......very difficult to catch exactly.

Dealer thinks I am crazy.........any idea where to start with this issue ? It's getting worse and driving me nuts. ;)

thx

Normal that's the lane departure warning

Also you say it flashes. That means that the sunlight is causing a glare on the front sensor causing the system to see an error. That's perfectly normal. The instruction manual says sunlight or bright light or glares can make the sensor act wiere. You'll get 3 beeps and that icon will flash. Don't worry about it.

I agree with this, or you could be gaining on the car or an object ahead of you too fast and it warns you with that beeping.

Could be some DOT IR transmitters that detect whether there are cars comming or not to change the light from green to red? Does this happen only at one intersection?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the input. I am not so sure it is sunlight related ....as it happens all the time. Also, when no cars ahead. To me it seems to detect something from the intersection.
I will pay more attention to it at night.....I do not do much night driving.
thanks !

Sometimes mine will go off when I am changing lanes or on a curve. The sonar will pick up a cement abutment or pole when I am doing the turn and alarm. It is normal and has happened in my 09 and my 10 FX.

How about instead of trying to guess we do some diagnostics?

Individually turn off all the nannies, and go test (I am talking by the switches by your left knee, or in the computer, the ones that relate to LDP, ICC, etc.). Once you find one that ends the problem all together come post back here and we will atleast have it narrowed down to the correct sensor and maybe what could be causing the problem.

EDIT: I think for a 2010 they should all be by your knee, they started shifting a few switches deep in the computer in 2011.

Will disable some of the nannies and see if it can be isolated.
Thanks all for the input.

This happens to me randomly and it seems to be the FCW. I'll start paying more attention to when it happens to see if its the same traffic light each time.
