FX50 Potential Buyer Questions

Hello FXer's,

It's time that I sell my coupe and move up to an FX. I've been looking at a used FX50S but I had a few questions that I couldn't find answers for in the search,

1. The seats - Is there a comfort difference between the seats on the FX50 and FX35? I know the 50's have thigh bolster controls but are they more/less comfortable? Any noticeable difference?

2. The Akebono brakes - I have them on my 370Z and I love them. Do the Akebono brakes on the 50 feel different from the "regular" brakes on the 35? Are they stiffer at all? Coming from a coupe, the pedal feel on the FX35 was much 'squishier' with more foot travel required.

3. The ride comfort on the 21" summer wheels that are on the FX50 - is it vastly stiffer than the 35?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think the interior might be exactly the same the difference will be brakes, horsepower and the wheels.

the real difference is the performance, everything else is very similar.

The 21's arent that stiff compared to 20's but I personally dont like the tires they came with.

Seats are comfy, nicely bolstered but not too small (Im a big guy)

The brakes are nice but like all nissan bbks they seem to fade much too quickly after some heavy use.--mine were faded after a 10 minute 'spirited drive' with an m3 sedan on the saw mill river parkway (narrow 2 lane curvy road)
And yes after a while they are much 'squishier' but that's how all of the infiniti SUVs are for some reason

I could only imagine how dead they would be after a track day

Seats are a big difference imo....for long driving, you want a FX35 seat. FX50 seats are comfortable for short driving. Even reviews I've read online mentioned the seats being a big difference.

Brakes are awesome and haven't felt brakes this good on any car thus yet.
