FX50 Mods

Very nice. I like it all now. Especially in that color. Sorry Will, but I'm feeling the hatch, tail lights and the grille. hahahahaha.

I think once we start seeing the 09's lowered a lot of people are going to start feeling them more.

Just a thought but if you have a aftermarket shop in your area a lot of them will give you a free prototype if you let them use your car for the measurements, fitting and testing.

Congratulation bro, is real exciting to drive the fx50!, i will change mine after they get more often and little price drop.
Obviously to convert immediately to LPG with the sequential injection system

Stillen has a dual cold intake air kit for the G37, Is possible with minor modification can be fit on that engine.
Hello there,

I am new to this forum as you can see.

I recently bought an FX50 and man that car drives great I drove my cuzins range rover and it was no match for this girl.

Anyway, Since the car is new I like to make it more unique and thought of putting in little spice in power and a bit of salad on the exterior.

So I am looking for a Cold Air Intake filter for the FX50 and something to make it sound even better. I tried searching but couldnt find but thought maybe you guys can help me.

I am also looking for a body kit for the FX50, Not that its ugly but I wana make it look even better. I already got me some 20'' Mettalic black wheels with chrome rings and a nice offset on them.

So please share ur knowledge and guide me to the parts I want. Lol.

Thanks.

Hey I'll take a set of those H&r springs! Does anybody know if I could get a dual intake for a G37 to fit my Fx50? Possible at all?

H&R are available on tire rack. on back order until January though. As for the G37S intakes working on the FX50 no. I looked at my R2C intakes and it ain't going to work. as well you would be better wait to get one design for the FX.

That intake looks ok to me - for what you get I don't like that price. Any shop that sells that inline fan "supercharger" shouldn't be taken seriously anyway (product lower on the same page).

There's really not that much to an intake. If you buy some silicone hump couplers or bends, you can very easily piece together your own. The basic idea is that you want the air filter away from heat, you do not want to cause any restriction in airflow, and you want to include the mass air flow sensor plus there is also a barb on the intake tube that is connected to the rocker cover (PCV hose).

I bought the Stillen heat shield & velocity stack, K&N filter element, a generic 3" chrome tube with a bend in it, two 3" hump couplers and four 3.25" T-clamps. I kept the OEM PCV hose and the OEM mass air flow housing.

My recommendation would be to get the same diameter tubing as the throttle body and Mass Air Flow sensor housing.

Check out two of my favorite sites for modular pieces - pick and choose straight pipe, bends, couplers, filters, kits - there's a ton of stuff out there.

Once you know what parts you want/need, go to eBay and you might get them cheaper. Do not be afraid unless you just KNOW you are not good with tools. If you can turn a wrench and read up or ask for help here on IS - you can do it.

Now one of you next gen guys get out there and have the first custom intake on the block!

That looks real nice. I ordered that intake just to see how it is. If I don't like it I'll throw it on Ebay. I'll post a pic when I install it.

Just an FYI. Tony from Fast Intentions and I will be talking in the new year about a full cat back and HFC/LTH/TP for this beast. i'll keep you posted.

I don't know which color I like more... Blue Slate or the Platinum Graphite. I like my Diamond Graphite, but I would've preferred a lil darker and there Infiniti goes and makes the 2009's with these 2 colors that I would've taken over DG any day :tears:

Oh and they go ahead and body-match the rear hatch to throw salt in the wound.
Platinum Graphite ftw! :)

My G is PG and so is my FX50s, I just love the color. One of the nice things about it is that it really hides the dirt well and also blends better with the black molding and the blackened chrome (if so equipped).

I'm seriously tempted to have the moldings painted to match, I think with PG it would look fantastic, but need to think on it some more. Only had the FX for 2 weeks so I need to give it some time.

DG is nice too though!

Hey guys, I installed the intake I posted earlier and it looks really nice, but I got in the car after installing it and the car runs like SH*T. I disconnected the battery terminal for about half hour before I started it to make sure it would reset but it still runs badly. It doesn't want to rev when I step on the gas. Could something have happened to the MAF when I disconnected it?

It's possible the MAF is acting funny. Check the electrical connections on the MAF and throttle body.

Does your new filter use oil? If you have it over-oiled and that oil coats the MAF, that would definitely impact it. It's a sensitive little guy.

Unhooking the battery for an hour probably isn't enough to reset your ECU. On the first gen models there are a few threads out there about how to do it (search "pedal dance"). Not sure about the 2nd gen models. Hopefully resetting the ECU is all it is.

Please post some photos. I'm not sure I've even seen an FX50 engine bay!
