FX50 engine compartment cowling panels on a FX35

Has anyone tried to use the FX50 engine compartment cowling panels on the right and left sides on their FX35? They look like they are plug and play with no mods?

Ouch ~$200 for those 2 plastic cowl covers. I would find some other mod to spend it on.

It did not occur to me that they had any until I took the vehicle over to my brother and he made the commit about them missing. His Lexus IS has a finished off engine bay, why not the Infiniti? I went to the dealership last weekend to see firsthand and the FX50's are finished off nicely why not the FX35?

IMHO. I am one who likes to work under the hood. I think it would be a PITA to have to take off the covers all the time. Think about just changing the light bulb. Does it look nice, YES. Does it really serve a function, not really unless you are showing the car off all the time where you have to raise the hood. I am the type of a person where function has to be a priority versus form. If form looks good while still serving a function, then win win!

I like them.. The mechanicalness of the engine bay is removed, but it keeps it clean and neat.

looks fine its a noise reducer

did you remove them? Is it louder? I kind of want to remove mine then...just the two side plastic pieces covering each air filter?

My engine is dirty underneath the black plastic. Seems like it doesn't keep anything clean...maybe just keeps it warmer which is not what you'd want anyway. I think it's just so the plastic looks nicer....I don't get any other benefit besides just nice plastic?

The panels arrived last week. I bit tardy on shipping them but they arrived for $131.20 shipped. I had to email several times to get a status on them. Never got any response either which kind of irritated me.

Got them from Order Infiniti Parts. AKA Infiniti of Charlotte. I’ve ordered another time from them and the parts arrived within a few days. Don’t know what happened this time around.

I’ve not found any place that does not make up the part price with shipping fees out the wazoo. Sewell was great from start to finish. They personally called me to confirm the order, called to say they shipped and called to follow up a few days later to see if I was happy with the service. They even tossed in his business card and said if I needed parts he was more than happy to work with me.

My local dealer or “stealership” is off the wall on all parts. The tube of touch-up paint was 25.00! I’m not kidding either. I pitched a fit on the price. He offered to take a few bucks off at that point and I said to keep the paint. The rear mat was had a price tag of 120.00. Got it from Passport Infiniti for 52.00. Had to drive 50 miles R/T. Even driving there and getting the part was still cheaper than the 120.00. As I left the parts department a guy stopped me and asked if I had just bought the car. I had to ask why? Get this response! He said, “people who buy these cars don’t care about cost it’s a status thing.” My response, “The more money than brains syndrome?” He came back with wait until you have your oil changed! ??? I said! That will set you back 150.00! I went down the street to the Nissan shop and got the paint for 9.00! Then to out to lunch for the balance of the money I would have spent!

Hmm I dont have like this ones in my second ..just purchased Fx...mybe missing

These were only standard on the FX50! The panels are plug and play for the FX35's! The part numbers are in this chain of chat. No questions asked, paid and shipped without any ordeal from the selling dealership. Took a few weeks but they arrived.

Are there people who have tried the covers in an FX35? if yes what adjustments need to be made?
I ask this because I think it looks neat and tidy and it keeps the parts clean
