FX45 knocking noise

Hey guys really hoping you can help me out on this one.

My car has a very slight knock/tapping noise from 700-2400 rpm range. It dosnt increase with acceleration but stays consistent. Wondering what the heck it could be the car has 95k on it and runs perfect. Oil level is full and dosnt burn a ounce of oil. Iv been using t6 5w-40 as per this sites recommendation.
 
lifter tick? possibly rod knock but you would notice it and im sure the car would go into limp mode. start by checking around the timing belts.

Maybe try some Marvel Mystery oil. I had a slight tick noise on mine (67000 miles) and tried a quart of it in my oil and so far so good the noise went away.
 
How long did it take the mystery oil to work? I added it this weekend and still present

Its crazy to me that the noise isn't present on start up but on acceleration up to 2500 - 3000k then gone!!! Doesn't increase with engine speed
 
Well well the tick I had may have come back I think. I have a video of it. What do you guys think my imagination or do I have something going on?
 
sounds like valve train noise (chain, lifter, valves). try 5w-30 oil and see if it goes away. also, get an oil filter opener, cut it and see if you have any shiny metal flakes on the bottom of the filter. if you do then it's probably bearings related.
 
Been using 5w-30. Even put in a quart of Marvel Mystery oil. Ran for 300 miles with it then just changed my oil with new filter and Rotella 5w-40 now.
 
Mine can't be heard all the time at idle only from 1000-2800 then gone

Im going after this this week. Ill let you know the results

Yup, sounds like the damper; I've seen videos of that on 350z and G35 forums and YouTube
