Thought I might as well share this story with people who have the same cars..

I was in Palm Springs and had just checked out of the hotel. I left my bag which had my shotgun shells in it with my girl in the lobby while I went to the car so I could bring it to the front. I turned my car on, turned on the AC, kept the front door and windows open since it was a cool 110° outside. Put my keys in the pocket, opened the trunk and was moving stuff around when I saw a flash of green get into the driver seat. I went up to the driver seat and it was some guy with hospital scrubs on trying to put my car in reverse. I started swinging at his face when I told him it was my car but he said he was "sorry and needed my car". That's when I realized he was really doing some GTA shit in real life.. and that my shotgun was in the trunk. I ran to the back, pulled my shotgun out and pointed it straight at his head and yelled multiple times to get out of the car.. Guy laughs and keeps trying to put my car in reverse.. the window was open so I started bayonet stabbing him with the barrel but he got it into drive and took off with my car.. Seeing my car driving away like that seemed like a dream.. Called the cops right away and luckily a lot of units were in the area because they were looking for this same person who stole my car- he had escaped a mental facility an hour before. Within 30 minutes, a cop drove me to where the other units had found him.. which was the same mental hospital that he had escaped from that day. Got my car back with no damages and I didn't have to shoot someone with 00 buckshot and have that weigh in the back of my head.. Guy's getting charged with carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon since he hit me with my car door while he reversed. Lessons learned... register Lojack, never keep any door open, or use the buttstock to shotgun whip and ko the guy lol

I don't think I would shoot him either while he was sitting in the car, you'd never clean buddy's guts/brains and you'd just ruin the vehicle. But I would have dragged him out and stomped him though

I would've attempted to reach in and hit the start stop button. If successful say "not today" in my best Dikembe Mutomb voice. Crazy story though but im glad you got your ride back in one piece. A remote start could've helped in this case too.

You guys in US can carry a gun, sometimes thats considered lucky. If that woulda happened in Canada it would be more like "sir where would you like to be driven to" to the mental dude since thats the only polite Canadian thing to do lol Personally I prefer the shotgun method

I'm 180 pounds and this guy was big to the point where I couldn't even put my arm between the steering wheel and his stomach to reach the Start/Stop button.. I clocked him in the jaw at least 5 times with the shotgun barrel and tried pulling him out, barely budged lol. I was too cautious in how to go about it because it felt like he had my car hostage, didn't want to hop in the back seat and choke him out in case he had it in D or R and crashes it.. regardless, things worked out in the cleanest way possible. I've lived in some pretty bad parts of town in Los Angeles and never had anything like this happen. I thought I'd know what to do but when it really happened, my main concern was my car being damaged and my gun. Even though I had insurance, there's that certain attachment you get to that particular car haha

Thanks God for your safety, car can be replaced but not you! I wish that we have a kill engine button in the remote that way we don't struggle in a situation like this.
