so today i see that the corner of my front seats has developed a crack about 2 inches.. wtf.. is there any products out there that we can use to fix it short of having to replace that leather.. when i bought mine, the dealer had the seats repaired.. not replaced, but it looks like they used a rubber seal over the leather to fix it ( the one on top of the seat memory controls).. i know most of you guys have damaged leather there..

I didn't use it on my FX yet, but had some good results on my previous ride. Plus it will easy to match the color for you, since you have a black seats
 
Mine started at the same place as yours - then it got this bad

^ What did they do, completely replaced the leather or somehow fixed it? No idea how they do these so well and how much did it run to get resolved?
 
They took out that whole strip (Vinyl material) and replaced it. I think it was $60 or in that ballpark. I remember posting the actual price in another one of these threads.
 
That's so cheap. I guess in California there are so many apholstery shops prices are competitive.

That is crazy, I just cleaned my seat recently and notice I have a tear in the same spot. I have the same colored seat as well. I guess it is weak point in the seat leather that split first. I will also need to use that repair kit, if it works.

:eek.: I think I may have to address my small crack ASAP, because I am not liking the out come here. Damn!!

Has anyone experienced a tear in their passenger's seat... on the same area?
I don't have it, yet.... but I want to know before I tell passengers "whoooooa! getchoass to the back." :(
 
Is this an issue with the black seats? I haven't noticed anything on mine (tan) but my wife's Lexus has some fold wear that's similar, though its more of a worn ridge as opposed to a crack. My Honda had grey leather and didn't have issues with cracking.

I called an upholstery shop today and was told that side bolster leather is in fact a type of vinyl and that they will replace the side bolsters on my driver seat with real leather and fluff the padded cushion underneath for $350.00. Pricey yes,but a good deal because I will be getting real leather on the sides that will hold up for some time if I keep it conditioned considering that Infiniti charges about $1000.00 for the vinyl/leather seat cushion alone. I always thought that it was odd that the center of my driver seat is still new looking, but the sides looked like shit. Only the center of the seat is real leather, well at least for now.
