FX35 or FX45 which one ?

Hello All in Infiniti land,
I am considering an Infiniti FX series and don't know which one to get. I will be buying used. Your input is greatly appreciated. I have been researching on the web and cannot find specific differences in either model.

fx35 or fx45 ? which one ?

do both come with AWD ?

I simply love the looks and the exhaust note.

I was considering an acura rdx.

well I am sure other will chime in, but it all depends on what you want to do with it. 45 comes with awd standard and the v8 not too many engine mods available compared to the 35 which come in rwd and awd so you will have to make sure it has it before you purchase.

45 = AWD / V8 / more TQ and HP
35 = RWD or AWD / V6 / more mod friendly
 
fx35 more mod friendly ? really ? wow ! I too prefer the v6 as v8 drink too much gas.

one more question, how will I know its an AWD ? is it indicated somewhere ?

fx35 if you wanna start pouring money into mods.
i think fx35 is the most mod friendly suv/crossover in the market.

unless i'll go for fx45.

Hi there
Just put ignition system on and check signs on panel, AWD should be ON as well (oil, accu, airbags etc) If no AWD light - the car is RW only.

Unfortunately there is not huge difference in gas mileage between the two and all those mods besides forced induction is to catch up w a 45. But most people do go for the v6 either or you will be happy
 
- Gas MPG very close to the same..probably about 4mpg diff.

- FX35 very mod friendly....but...Unless you go FI, no matter how many mods you do, you still wont be able to beat a stock FX45.
-Stock FX45 1/4 mile Approx 15.3...Modded FX35 1/4 mile approx 15.7. (unless your Stu :eek.:)
-Modded 45= high 14's....SC 35 = mid to high 14's.

- FX45 comes stock with a rear stablizer bar...FX35 AWD comes with it too...BUT FX35 with RWD = no rear bar....another mod

-FX45 comes stock with an AWD system that works very well in handling in corners...not offroad use....lol...

-FX45's are known to "eat" oil

-If I had to do it over again...FX45. Love my RWD FX35, but I could have saved a lot of time and money I put into engine mods ( that still dont make me as fast as a 45) and put it to a nice wheel/tire combo instead.

Acura RDX? not even in the same class. A much smaller XO...more compareable to the EX35 than an FX35/45.
 
If I could do it all over again, I would get a 2006 FX35 RWD (autumn copper) and throw an HKS Supercharger on it. Not sure what the price differences are between an 06 35 and an 06 45, but take that difference and FI it. Do not get anything below a 2006, since the slight interior change is worth it...in my book.

All valid points. But to the OP, since you LOVE the exhaust note, just a FYI...the 45's exhaust note is different. Most of the ones you've been hearing are 35's.
 
i'll make it easier, get a FX45, debadge the '45', i will send you my '35' in the mail, attach it and get another sticker from autozone that says 'supercharged'. now you've got one mean 35 in town....
